I love the feeling this song gives off. It's like a quiet swirling vortex. It's not exactly sinister or depressing, but it has the dragging feeling of being sucked in. I guess it's akin to watching something horrible happening and not being able to look away but instead it's hearing a story we know isn't going to end well? It's hard to explain but good job. I'm defiantly going to check out some of your other stuff.

I've only listened to Jack Conte for a little bit, he is so different but in a really good way. I find myself always coming back to Kitchen fork or Bloody nose, though I knew he was different when I saw the look in his eyes when he talked about going on tour. He just had this shine, passion, in his eyes. He was obviously very excited about this and the shine in his eyes told me that he was just different in many ways from other singers now.

(LYRICS) Wake from a dream, Where I was stuck losing my teeth. Lucky for me it was all fake Or not what it seemed. Where, oh where will we go next, Haunted pillow beneath my head? Where does it go? Where does it go? Where does it go? Pick out her heart With a kitchen fork, Pin down her arms. Wake from the scar, Still feeling sick. Where did it get started? Where, oh where did this come from? Oh my God, my head's a gun. I let myself go. I let myself go. I let myself go. Whose that? Can you, reach in time? Takes me, all these, Wretched hours? Once I flew above the cars, And the wind blew gratitude through my heart. I let it all go. I let it all go. I let it all go. Save us from our own two heads. Can I keep just one and ditch the rest?

As a violinist I absolutely love the incorporation of violin in this song. It's so hauntingly beautiful and the part in the middle of the song where the all the parts play in unison is chilling, as well as the note the song ends on. There are so many elements in this song that pull it together, like the glockenspiel part. This song is a lovely example of usually classical instruments being used in a non classical context and it works perfectly. I hope to be able to pick out a few parts of this song to learn.

i have a theory that this song is about someone who experiences such pain with things in the past and cant seem to forget them hence "where do we go next", they have a mental illness maybe hence "save us from our own two heads" and they have nightmares because of the illness hence "wake from a dream where i was stuck losing my teeth" and "haunted pillow beneath my head" and they know its all in their head but still cant shake the fact hence "lucky for me it was all fake or not what it seemed". the mental illness might effect their emotional state because of "pick out her heart with a kitchen fork", "wake from the scar still feeling sick", and "once i flew above the clouds".they obviously want to be saved because of "save us from our own two heads, can i keep just one and ditch the rest" here's how i think the story goes **ahem** some tragic accident happened in the past and this person got a mental illness from it. the mental illness effects their emotional state and their sleep. they have constant nightmares and switches from one emotion to another in a blink of an eye. they know its effecting them so they search for help, wanting to break free from the chains of the illness. if you made it to the end of this comment well....thanks and congrats. tell me how u feel about my theory (also im not saying its fact i just thought of it and said "oH tHiS mIgHt bE cOoL")

Probably not intended, but this song perfectly encapsulates the feeling of sudden bursts of life long trauma. all of those times where pain went in one way and not out the other, making an unstoppable escape from your body, from your mind, from your heart. After years and years of trauma and sheduled normality, you suddenly lose sight of your average day to day life and become blinded by all of the emotions youve been forced to keep in your heart, all the pain youve been force fed all your life. Its horrible because when it eventually ends, it leaves an after taste of no bitterness, no anger, no sadness and no fear, just, despair. Despair at what youve become. Despair at the damage that will never go away. Despair at the non-negotiatable reality that has been seared into the deepest part of your heart, a scar with an uncontrolable pulse. Your childhood asks you to stop thinking about it, so you sniff up your tears, and wait for the next time it happens, looping the cycle, and sealing your heart back fully in its birthplace, just to get a few more hours of your day over with. So yeah um anyways i would say its a good song-

@@cinguloapathy im sorry how the fuck are bo en and jack stauber even remotely similar to this??? pale machine 2 has a couple of songs (and by mean a couple i mean exclusively that one orchestral section in our time) with a similar sound but not at all in the same style as conte's work. jack stauber also is far more experimental and has very few similarities to this. also jack stauber and bo en are way goofier lol

i heard this on soundcloud and i totally didn't expect him to look like this (not a bad thing, just his voice does fit his face and it's so cool)

I still can’t wrap my head around that this dude doesn’t have like 5 million subs. Like he’s the co-owner of damn Patreon! And his songs are absolute bangers. Also it sucks the last video he uploaded was 11 years ago… Damn.
