One thing about Animal Parade that I like was it builds on the rival marriages where eventually the couples have their own kids as well. However, because Animal Parade from what I remember is the last HM game to include rival marriages, this is the only game where new children can be introduced as a result of rival marriages

I'm definitely excited to get into the Rival Marriages. I didn't get any bachelorettes or bachelors up to 4+ hearts as to avoid any of those cutscenes before I did the marriage vote. It's sad that I know Marvelous will never bring them back because the Japanese audience despises them

My understanding of the situation is that, if there is a rival marriage mechanic, the Japanese audience believed that those two characters, lets take Chase and Maya as example, were a fated pair. They thought it was awful that the player could come in and essentially steal someone else's destined happiness, so Marvelous got rid of them as a concept

I can see that. I personally would love to see one just for modern convenience and quality of life improvements. The hours that I've spent waiting in loading screens, picking crops on at a time, and traversing the massive map of Animal Parade are definitely a pain point for me. This video would have been out two weeks earlier if it weren't for all that extra time lol

This is by far my favorite game of the series!😊 It has so many fun parts to it. I love that it has a story/quest line and a decent amount of areas. I like having different mounts to use and the circus animals for teleporting. The mines are fun also. It's nice having multiple houses to use in the different areas. I love how many wild animals you can befriend and make into pets and how they get crowns if they win contests (really enjoyed having a snake wearing a crown). The pets can follow you and gather items for you. It's great that you can have multiple kids and assign your spouse a job out and about or help with a farm task and your kids help farm too.😌 So many parts to enjoy!💕

Yay! I love watching your videos while grinding in HM Light of Hope. I went from being a defender of it to being extremely frustrated by how much RNG is in it as I try to complete the encyclopedia. Plus most of the fish dishes specifically require rainbow trout or arapaima, which aren't available year round and there's just too many other fish you can catch instead of them....

wonderful on PS2 was my first HM but i think animal parade was my favorite. it felt like a culmination of all the good i loved about HM games. some character customization, tons of townfolks, the rival marriages, tons of crops and animals. two kids! just a ton to work on and spend time on without it feeling too repetetive. i literally only have my wii these days to play this game every couple years lol

another fun fact about the word "fugue", it's ALSO a musical term, so it fits in with the rest of the world's musical themed naming scheme. it's a composition where several parts of a melody are each introduced in staggered intervals, and harmonize together. it's a VERY complicated structure for music, which is why it's also used as the name of a mazelike forest dungeon like fugue forest!

Dont think I have a favorite character, but I love a lot about this game. I love the sounds the cows feet(?) makes when you ride it, the cow is adorable! And I love the details, like the kappa by the bridge, the ghost at the cemetary and the rubber duck that hides at your farm and moves around (based on the weather, I think). It always made me smile when I found him, usually in the water tower. And the music is nostalgic as I played this a lot a long time ago. My favorite puzzle is the one where you roll a duck egg off a roof. 😅

I 100% get that. I definitely felt rushed in MM and AWL at points. AP just seems a bit disconnected, if that makes sense. The map is so massive, your character moves so slowly, and the loading screens are definitely noticeable. A remake that addresses that disconnection would definitely be a warm welcome.

Even though I mostly go for the bachelors (mostly), since I'm a girl. I really like them in this game. Selena and Witch Princess are the ones I typically like the most. Though the Harvest Goddess has the prettiest design in this game too but she's always really difficult to marry in all the games from what I know. As for bachelors, I really like all of them but especially Jin. (Always loved the Doctor Bachelors in the games looking at you POOT). He was so cute and awkward. I think the Harvest Goddess is pretty easy, comparatively, to marry in AP. In other HM games, there are a string of things you need to accomplish first, like shipping every crop, having all goddess tools, etc. but in AP, I'm pretty sure she's just another bacheloerette that you need to get to 10 hearts lol

This game was a huge part of my childhood. I would play it for hours when I was sick. I swear I killed my wii playing this game as we eventually got rid of it. This is my standard for any farming game and Stardew Valley comes close to filling the void. Luke and the Wizard were my boys. I would love to replay this on the switch!

This game has one of the best rosters of bachelor and bachelorette designs I've seen in a HM/SoS game! If this gets a Switch remake, I hope the art style leans a little closer to the really cute illustrations than these models ;;;; The Wizard's design is the one I like the most (though the Harvest King is DANG, too)

I loved this game to pieces as a kid but it was always an effort to play. I wasn’t a huge fan of the controls or the camera angles or how long it would take to traverse the town in early game. Would love to see a remake so I can enjoy it now older and able to understand the game mechanics better

This was my first Harvest Moon game. I remember watching PeanutButterGamer's video on it way back in the day and feeling like I needed to buy it because he made it look so interesting.(His tea song from that video is etched into my mind) When I finally bought it I only played it for 3 hours at most and felt so overwhelmed by the game for some reason. I'm in the same boat; I never had a Wii so I never got to play this gem, but I was obsessed with looking at Fogu and videos of the heart events back on old-school KZbin. I dreamed of the day where I could get it! Sadly, even until today, I haven't gotten to it, but I'm also very hopeful that it gets the remake treatment because I think it's the perfect time to do so. Especially because this game has rival marriages and kids right? Which I feel like is so rare! I'm currently working on getting every achievement in Olive Town and whew... That game sure is a grind. Not the worse game by any means but definitely not at the top, so I'm dying to see a return to form with rival marriages, kids, and a plethora of things to do! Thanks again for all your hard work. I gush excessively but your vids really are a joy to watch. Not sure about favorite character in AP but I remember seeing Luke and he was right up my 15-year-old alley, lmao the bandana with the flames did it for me and I was psyched. I always loved the wizard and harvest god in animal parade. I liked having a challenge while playing I guess lol I would love to have a remaster of this game where I can marry whoever I wanted like they did for a wonderful life. In hindsight, I definitely would've kept the trees for the summer and cut them down in the fall. I honestly didn't know that they were cherry trees and would produce fruit when I cut them down, I just thought they were normal trees to introduce wood collecting.

My favorite Harvest Moon next to A Wonderful Life. Glad you are playing this. This is one of the best it's slow but worth it! I love Mineral Town to as well. Of course Magical Melody was fun back in day to. I have quite a few favorite bachelors,and bachelorettes in this game. They are so full of personality. Last game to have rival marriages and it was nice seeing there marriage and kid's to. Sad this was the last game for it but I love it so much. One of my all time favorite Harvest Moons ever! Wish could get a Switch remaster of it but it's great as is for now. To answer your question if I had to choose out of both bachelor and bachelorettes. My favorite bachelor is well between Gill, and Toby, and Jin. Honestly can't choose and my favorite bachelorette is well like the bachelor it's hard to choose I love Anissa,Kathy,Candace,Renee. Favorite character in general hard to choose. I love the bachelor's and bachlorettes the most I listed so also my favorite character's. It's hard for me to list all aspects I like of them. I like to many of them. If you ever play the normal DS Harvest Moon games, Sunshine Island's is the best to me. Hope you play it one day to.

Wizard is my favorite, pairing him with the player character they have a very sun and moon dynamic which I love. A lot of this game for me was just thinking about the characters' lives and relationships to each other, almost in a fanfiction sense. 😅 And with the map being so huge and it taking a few minutes to get anywhere, you get plenty of time to think.

you can’t ask us who are favorite animal parade character is. When it’s really animal parade or tree of tranquility 😂 They both had the best of both worlds. Each with its own flaws and unique spins. Locked bachelors, rival marriages, part time jobs, short cuts/fast-travel, kid-overtaking farm+numerous cutscenes throughout the years and so much more. This is just what sticks out to me even though it’s been years since I played. Overall Animal Parade character ? The Harvest God. Loved him and the music in his area😂

It's a modern remake of one of the most popular Harvest Moon games and contains all the most common mechanics and motifs of any HM/SOS game. It's widely available on all platforms, is super easy to run, and is a great introduction to the series.

Animal Parade is definitely my favorite Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons game. I love all of the characters a lot. For the longest time Chase, Luke, and Gill were my favorites, but I genuinely like almost all the characters in this game. My current favorite is the Wizard. One of my favorite memories is definitely my friends, family, and I mispronouncing Fugue Forest every time we saw or it was mentioned it in the game.
