On average, how many recharges is that battery rated for before the storage capacity is depleted and a new one must be purchased? (I.e. cell phone batteries can last at most a year before they begin to deplete quicker)
@TheTechofTech3 жыл бұрын
Cell phone batteries are designed around a 2yr average ownership of a device that must fit in a pocket. These are much more sophisticated batteries with much more sophisticated battery management systems. The Jackery Explorer 1000 is rated for 500 charge cycles before dropping below 80% original capacity. At that point, it will still have 800wH of capacity, which is far from time to buy a new one. That would be a year and a half of charging and depleting every single day. In reality, that gives these a 5-15 year span before hitting that 80% mark. Thanks for watching!

It will certainly work to supplement any charging you’d be able to do from a 12V or 120V outlet and keep you topped off with light use of the power station. Watts are indeed volts times amps. However, the output of the 12V receptacle is limited to 10 amps, and the output of the 110W receptacle is limited to 4.5 amps sustained, 9 amps peak. The 240 is for the capacity, which is 240wH, which they list as 16.8aH.

@TheTechofTech3 жыл бұрын
500 cycles to 80% capacity, not to 0% and trash. How long do you think it would take you to use 500kWh of battery? LiFePO4 batteries have a much higher cycle life, but they’re about 50% heavier for the same capacity. You just need to figure out what your planned use is and what your priorities are for weight versus cycle life.
@CC-gt3ro3 жыл бұрын
It is >=500 it means if you charge when it is below 50% you can get 1000 and even 1500 cycles or more. If you deplete fully every day yes you will have only 500 cycles but you will still have 80% of capacity. It is recommended to charge below 10% or 15% to keep longer the Jackery. If you want to manage yourself the battery you can still do a DIY system where you can buy and replace the battery as you want. But a jackery 1000 could run my fridge for 4 days minimum and still be at 20%. I don’t do camping every day, only few day in the year. So i think the jackery can last 8/10 years probably. It has to be deplete and charge once every 6 months to keep the battery in good condition as well. And it is good to keep it inna faraday bag in case of solar flare.
