Man I almost shed a tear when I booted this game up and started playing. Stalker was my childhood, my friend and I used to bring our big ass beige dell PCs to each other's house, wed roll it over on a wagon lol.. and we'd play stalker shadow of Chernobyl side by side all weekend, it was the closest thing to multiplayer you could get lol. He passed away shortly after this game was announced and I'm just so goddamn happy that this feels the way it used to, problems and all. I don't want a perfect game, I want this one.

pro tip, you can store everything you find during the prologue (theres an AKM and an AR15) in the box inside the bunker, and then everything else you pick up after that you can store in the safe in the building where the cutscene where you get knocked out starts, then after you wake up, you can go to the safe and get your stuff and then walk back to the bunker and get the other stuff. The AR15 sells for like 5k and can get you some good early upgrades. I'm still using the AKM as my primary weapon a couple hours in, and so far have only found 1 other functioning one, so it's a good head start.

This was funny when the first game released. This is now their 4th game and to release it in this state and blatantly lie about A Life, the core feature of previous games, is completly unacceptable. The quality does not match the asking price at all. I got Fallout 4 for £30 at release and it had more depth than this game. I'm referring to the most basic AI, encounter and spawning system btw. I fully understand Stalker is not an RPG. Despite the RPG and fleshed out faction questing system found in Fallout (And Bethesda rpgs) the original world of Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl felt far more alive thanks to the dynamic A Life system. Stalker 2 without A Life is basically Fallout Ukraine on UE5 engine without faction relation system and worse AI spawning.

Things they need to change: enemy health and aim hits on higher difficulty’s, npcs and mutants spawning 10 feet from you every 5 mins, getting shot through 5 inch metal at 100 feet out, poltergeist hitting you through walls with no objects nearby for them to pick up, dogs and npcs weird movement when in combat makes it 100% harder to get headshots, blood sucker health should be half of what it is rn

Been playing it for a couple of days and I am super impressed. I've played the original 3 games, over and over, and Stalker 2 gets us right back into the same immersion, atmosphere, etc etc. Loving it. The ONLY gripe I have is the gear upgrade system. In the old games everything was visible on one screen and super easy and intuitive to use. In the new method they've split everything into separate popup windows that you have to click to open. This is actually quite a pain in the ass to operate. Please! return this to the old way. It's a quality of life that's been removed.

If you ask me, atmosphere is what this game did right... (besides the visual glitches, lighting bugs, etc) the way the zone looks is very STALKER. Nearly everything else feels off... loot distribution... npc interactions.... the cutscenes... the enemy AI... some of these things can be fixed and some will remain. The devs themselves insisted this would be a more casual experience. I see a good future for Stalker 2 and I'm happy some people are able to play without many problems. There's a gem here it just needs more polishing.

For me on PC it was unplayable sometimes I'm in the town and come close to one of the main NPC, its like a bubble where when you come in it start rendering the NPC and shot my FPS down below 10, and there are just certain spot I went in the town it will also shot my FPS down hard, my 4070 laptop GPU power only pull 30W and CPU load below 30%. Other than that, outside of the town has been smooth mostly with some stutters.

They've got a whole different set of setting too.. for Series X there's no stick drift settings, can't turn off motion blur (unless I'm blind and didn't see it all I saw was low), on quality have had issues with environment and objects rendering, the random on top of you spawning is a lil bit annoying but most of the time they randomly spawn far enough away that I usually have the chance to react before getting jumped.. overall love the game just needs a bit more tightening up.

Use aimed single shots to the head, you need to preserve ammunition (and headshots do way more damage). Knifekills are also very effective and offcourse cost 0 ammo, sneak up from behind to do that. Slight spoiler/tip for the beginning of the game: before you set the thing with the artifact for the third time go and stash all you gear in the safe in the nearby house (access thru the window to the place behind metal bars). That way you can go and get you gear after you wake up without it after the knockout. ;)

So glad Stalker 2 is finally here! It feels and looks nearly identical to the old games just with better graphics and mechanics! I cant wait for the future of the game as theyve said multiplayer will be added in the future, which will be HUGE for Stalker, it hasnt been properly done yet. I will say, i hope they plan on adding ALOT more guns and stuff to the game, cause coming from the old games and their mods like Misery and Anomaly mod, i miss having a huge arsenal of guns to choose from and all the random items you can sell or use for repairs and crafting.....and i havent gotten far enough into the game but i havent noticed the ability to place your own stash down, which i hope gets implemented if it isnt in the game yet. But im sure the modders will do amazing things with this new game! Im so excited for everything to do with this game! As long as there is no A life mechanics, I stick to the old Stalker games. The new game just spawns enemys close to your position.

@@IdeI2StOnEd yeah I'm a little bit disappointed they didn't make a new A-life mechanic for the new game, that was a big part of the old games appeal, along with the ambience, atmosphere, etc. Maybe the modders will come up with something?

@@basedworldbillionaire- now I was seriously worried I'd feel this way and it just would deflate the whole experience for me....but I disagree, I think it does feel like the previous games, just with added improvements and newer graphics. Honestly I can't think of any other game developer that's done this well of a job staying faithful to their old games, especially after such a long gap between them....perfect example would be Dead Island to dead island 2..even though they changed developers.

Daylight and Night cycles are a joke. Day lasts like 30 minutes while Nights last about 1 hour and a half.

I'm currently having a major immersion breaking audio bug, when I turn mono audio on there's no bad grainy echo, when mono is off to provide a more immersive experience, there is a bad grainy echo, as if all the audio is recorded inside a metal barrel of small room.

@@MrAllGamesAllDaymy 2060 super handles decent. Loading into big areas it freezes for a couple seconds while everything loads in but that’s about it so far. Only 1 crash in 16 hours and it was near the beginning. A 3080 should be alright to run it well
