Jackie Chan Adventures | Day of the Dragon | Season 1 Ep. 13 | Throwback Toons

Jackie and Jade defeat Tohru to claim the Tiger Talisman, unaware it has the power to split a user's yin and yang sides into separate entities. When Jackie is accidentally affected by the talisman, after it is split in half, his yang counterpart is manipulated by Valmont into recovering the talismans from Section 13. When Jade and Uncle discover this, they swiftly work to stop this with Jackie's ying counterpart, only for Tohru to get hold of the talismans. Despite Jackie's ying and yang selves eventually working together to stop Valmont, they are soon unable to prevent him using the talismans on Shendu and releasing him from his imprisonment, restoring the demonic dragon to his true form.

To be honest, I always preferred Jackie Chan Adventures after this episode. It is mostly Tohru because after this episode, he would support the main characters and be that way for the rest of the series. It's kind of like how I preferred the Dragon Ball series starting with Z where Piccolo would fight alongside the main characters and be that way for the rest of that respective series. In other words, I like the idea of former antagonists/villains supporting the main character(s) for the rest of a respective series. Also, I think we can all agree that the sheep talisman is Jackie's second least favorite talisman to use.

Shendu's VA (also Jackie's VA) gave his full form such a sinister dark tone in this debut episode that gave you goosebumps. I wish he maintained it for all of Shendu's future non-stature/non-spirit scenes.

Tohru knew his actions will lead to demonic consequences, that's why he made the right call and decision to go to Uncle's Shop to not just join them, but to also give Uncle the specific information about the Demon known as Shendu; Demon Sorcerer of Fire. At least now, Tohru has learnt from his mistake.

Uncle only had bits of information from the talismans. Ancient times and the lack of literature to research them is why it takes a while for Uncle to even learn their abilities and sometimes they need to figure it out through experience.

Whoa, Nellie! I haven't seen this Jackie Chan Adventures episode in years. Great to see Jackie fight that draconic snake Shendu for the first time. I call Shendu a snake because of his track record of betraying people. Now I must wonder why Uncle didn't give that magic balm to Captain Black's men as well. Jackie could have used some backup when he was pulling talismans out of Shendu's demon body.

Definitely a fantastic season finale! Truly incredible! So many amazing scenes with Shendu! He is without a doubt one of the best boss villains ever! His speeches are amazing! I like the “Mouse” scene too but for me his opening speech is the best! “Keeper of the Talismans, the apocalypse of which legend speaks! And I am once and for all your executioner! Totally amazing! I love it so much! Thanks so much for sharing this with us! Long also I love how this episode sets up Tohoru joining Jackie’s team! Without a doubt one best finales from this series!

She's smart, witty, and cunning, making her the best character in the entire series. I couldn't get enough of her adventures with Jackie and Uncle. Now, I can't wait for season 2 to be uploaded on this channel. It's going to be so great to relive all those exciting moments once again!
