When Jackie Chan was in the red chair, there was a lot more conversation than we could fit into the broadcast. Here's the full interview.

Give this guy a break, he is fluent in mandarin and cantonese while at the same time able to speak and understand basic English. What amazes me the most is that he is not properly educated when he was young and yet he is able to adopt several foreign languages even though at the basic level. How many Englishmen or Americans out there can even speak any other language apart from English?

The best comment ever on this video...Jackie Chan was right, Westerner people are just rude and stereotypist, worst yet most of them are racists ! When they hear people (non-Westerners) talk in English like Jackie here, they comment on how bad or wrong his English language is...But what they don't realize is, this guy is only speaking his "2nd language", which is English. Because it's the UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE that everyone needs to learn and speak when dealing with an "English-speaking" people...But when it's time for them (Westerners) to speak other foreign language, they can't speak it, THEY DON'T KNOW SHIT AT ALL ! IT'S BEEN A NORM FOR THESE WHITE PEOPLE...BUT IT'S ALL SO WRONG...FIX THAT SHIT !

Nobody want to be mocked on tv. I can relate with Jackie. Disciplining children nowadays is very different back in the day. I am 26 now, here in the Philippines, I experienced the hitting (stick, frying pan, rope, slipper (always flying)) slapping and kneeling down with books on my hand. We cannot play outside or watch TV if we are not yet finished with our tasks at home. If you do not follow, you will experience these kind of punishments. Even my teacher can do that to us (elementary days). They make you stand in the class the whole day if you make mistakes and write "I will never do that again" a number of times in a whole page of paper (back to back). Whenever me and my brothers are having a fight, my father or mother give us a knife and says "Go and kill each other or else you will taste something you never taste" 🤣🤣 That was how our parents discipline us. That was normal back then, now most parents can't do that anymore coz they can be sued for physical or child abuse. I learned respect and discipline in that way. Those were the days.

Lmfao those were the days. Child, you are so young still. There isn't any scientific evidence that type of parenting style largely effective. At all. If you have to be taught respect with physical punishment and threats of greater violence, you weren't actually being taught anything the right way, just the lazy way. You don't learn why something is wrong, you fear the punishment. You don't make a decision about something because you weigh the moral consequences of your actions, but because you are afraid of the punishment for acting incorrectly. This turns people largely into two types of personalities: Pushovers who fear every decision they are responsible for making that walk around looking like guilty dogs OR physically/emotionally abusive narcissists that externalize their rage and repeat the cycle of "necessary punishment" unto their loved ones. You're so delusional it's actually sad. Get some perspective in life, silly child.

Respect and Honor are two concepts that are not prominent in Western cultures. It's more Eastern cultures you'll find them in. Disclaimer: Although they are mostly found in the East, does not mean they are always practiced and likewise just because they are lacked in the West does not mean you won't find people that abide by them. I am talking strictly for the majority and how much it's ingrained in the culture.

For this legend i can only feel respect and deep admiration ! Jackie Chan is the guy who made it all happen , out of nowhere we had an actor having the whole package . Martial arts ...check . Comedy ... check . Racing ...check . showing respect , dignity and integrity ...check . I can relate to what he was saying about his son and the whole discipline issue and how young people are different ... Yeah i can tell by how much the society has changed since i was at school to this day .

really amazing interview. the interviewer is being all professional but jackie is just being himself. so genuine and unafraid to admit things which are real and dark in his life, he learnt compassion and humility over his years of experience and wasn't afraid to share how he had been an ass at some points of his life. wish i could learn to be like him in these regards someday.

MrRedolive Funny, Chinese pro-democracy protesters don't seem to like him so much. Here are some of his great quotes: "I'm gradually beginning to feel that we Chinese need to be controlled. If we're not being controlled, we'll just do what we want" “People scold China, they scold leaders, or anything else they like. They protest against everything, There should be rules to determine what people can protest about and on what issues they can’t protest about.”

This has been one of my favorite Jackie Chan interviews. I like how George listens and lets Jackie finishes which makes the conversation smooth and entertaining. Jackie has always been a humble person and disciplined. Too bad his son did not learn the same value of hard work, discipline and humility. I wish he could let his son watch The Karate Kid over and over again to at least learn well. Great interview, George! Much love and respect too for Jackie 🙂
