Honestly, after re watching this movie and this fight scene after years, this still is hands down one of the best movie fights ever choreographed. Everything and everyone was in sync. Props to you, to Jackie and to everyone involved in making this masterpiece.

The things that make Jackie Chan films stand out to me are the choreography (using seemingly improvised weapons and tactics based on the location of the hand-to-hand fighting) and the humor they toss in. In this scene, (in addition to the eyebrow action of the first opponent at the start of the fight), you have Jackie and Ron both taking a brief pause in the fight to rub the feeling back into their legs after the leg-to-leg kicking segment of the fight. It shows that, while the combatants have near-mythical skills in martial arts, they are still human. I love this!

I remember seeing the BTS for this film where Jackie was frustrated that Ron couldn't adapt to choreographed fights as Ron was not used to it at the time. This was his debut and his first real fight scene - and it was with Jackie Chan, who was well known for complex and fast action scenes. Watching this again now, I can clearly see the stunt double filling in on the parts that Ron couldn't get right - that being said, I still cry laughing @3:17 when they start shin kicking each other. I remember seeing that for the first time with my dad and we both fell on the floor laughing 🤣

The best thing about Jackie from the 80s on is how messy his fights are. Not like IP man movies now. The way he and his team choreographed these fights made them look almost like a real street brawl. These guys are swinging what looks like wild punches. Hooks. Jabs....everything. The choreography is just incredible.

I've watched this fight scene tons of time since it came out in 98. I watched Jackie Chan's films religiously almost every weekend in Lima, Perú. The set up for Ron as a big boss is flawless with that leg stretch as the camera is panning out. Seconds later he throws off a flying kick followed by a dragons tail to the opposite direction to open up the fight!!!! That is VIDEOGAME STATUS. I've been in awe w that move since i was 12 and now my kids are too. My 3 year old just asked me "can we please watch the rooftop fight?"... I put it on... And then he starts shouting and throwing kicks! This still is probably one of the best (if not the best) fight in the history of movies.

I find it absolutely incredible that this is his first on screen fight and how well he does keeping up with the rhythm and adapting to Jackie's style, that in itself is an incredible feat, Way to absolutely rise to the occasion on Ron's part. Hi Ron, among the countless fighting scenes I have watched, I rank two of Jackie's as best. One is the Jackie vs. Benny Urquidez in Wheels on Meals, and the other is your fight with Jackie in Who Am I. No other actors showed this level of refined styles and precise executions. My late father and I watched this movie more than ten times together, and laughed like crazy when Jackie tried to make you stand (for a final blow) but you keep collapsing. (^^) It was also so funny when you removed the tie when Jackie was holding Yung by the tie and gave him a good beating. Thank you for decades of entertainment!

One thing about jackie chan fights that is rare to see is today so often the main character just wins. Jackie originally struggles then adapts and starts to win then Ron comes in he gets beat but starts to adapt and wins till they both fight and again starts to lose adapts then wins. The development and evolution of the fight. This is something that needs to happen in more action sequence movies today and I hope we can learn from the past.

This is why I love Jackie Chan fight scenes! He's always the underdog (for the most part), haphazardly fighting his enemies and digging deep to find a way to win against all odds! His fight scenes usually show the protagonist learning and adapting to his adversary/adversaries as the fight scene progresses. That's what makes me root for him in all these fights. I can't stand those Steven Seagal type fight scenes, where the protagonist, dispatches a million baddies, whilst only getting hit twice. Those scenes are so unrelatable, and the protagonist comes across as invincible. Chan's fight scenes are so relatable, because we've all been underdogs at some point in our lives, backs against the wall, and had no choice but play the cards we've been dealt to overcome adversity, and Jackie Chan's fight scenes mimic those struggles we've faced exceptionally. His fight scenes are like a complete story, with a beginning, middle and an end, and oh boy, the payoff at the end is so rewarding to observe to say the least. Jackie Chan, in my opinion, is the best martial artist actor/director we've every seen on the screen. Truly one of a kind! What he has done for cinema, is nothing short of amazing. I truly wish him al the best, what an absolute legend!

Ron, you are a legend, my friend. I loved Fighting Fish. I have the best memories watching Who Am I? showing the fight scenes to my mother when I was a teenager

The fight between these three was one of the best fight scenes I've seen. The whole premise of Who Am I was comical as well. One of my favorite Jackie Chan Movies.
