Every time I Jackie Daly playing his Polkas of his French made accordion' I drop my crutches and I am up and dancing all over, the floor down the hallway, out the front door and out onto the street, this drives my nurse crazy, they say that have I not walked for years and I will break your neck also that this is no way for an old man to behave, I tell my nurses that this is the power of Irish music but they do not understand, they are more into house and rap music

On Jackie's 1st recording, Music from Sliabh Luachra, the first track is 3 polkas, the last two of which are also the last two here. He calls them Johnny Leary's and Jim keefe's.

Not the same Newmarket Polkas he recorded with Patrick Street - maybe there's an endless supply of Newmarket polkas ? Great set anyway.😀

There are a lot yes. Most written by John Walsh or Timmy O'Connor. Jackie would learn them at the session at Scully's Pub in Newmarket, but either they didn't have a name it he didn't know it, and they would just wind up referred to as Newmarket polkas.
