Jay had some good shows, the only one who was better than him was Carson. But yes, this was one of his best interviews, followed by a stunning performance. Jay knew it as well, because he had Jackie back on his show several other times. Then Oprah booked her as well, plus many other shows.

I watched this show and thought what a dolt Leno is...Faced with an emerging world class singer he speaks with her as if she is four years old... Now, five years later, Leno is gone, and Jackie has taken the world by her lovely voice and style. Every time she sings the .Music of the Night song. I still get goosebumps. I am a four year cancer survivor....and grateful that among other things, I a able to see the woman within, Awaken. Thanks. For posting this.

I miss Jay Leno on The Tonight Show...He was so great with his monologues and his interactions with his guests. I have not watched the show after he retired. Of course no one was better the Johnny Carson. I recently discovered the heavenly voice of Ms. Evancho. All I can say is.... Her voice & talent can only be described as a gift to humanity. When I hear her sing....I block out all the evils in the world and truly am at peace. I hope this young lady stays true to her roots and continues down the path that has brought her to this point in her life.

Happy to see this up again. It was a wonderful interview and she's done many since this one. Some were great, a couple...not so much. The interaction between Jackie and Leno was fun to watch. And the Alligator Crocodile cheer is one of the classic Jackie moments. And as Richard said, she does have a great sense of humor, as we've seen in other interviews, as well as some of the banter in her performances.
