I've followed and loved the voice and talent of this Singularity of Hope and Dreams since voting for her in the KZbin AGT episode and while I haven't gotten to a concert yet. It is one dream I have still.

Thanks YT for bringing this back to my screen ten years later. Her prodigal childhood years were a remarkable ride and it's unlikely we'll ever see anything like that again. Jackie is 21 now with an entire career behind her when her peers are trying to start theirs. She seems to have come through a most unusual childhood to become a pleasant young woman. Her voice remains astounding. I hope she finds happiness and satisfaction moving forward.

Where does her singing voice come from? She has a cute voice of ten-year-old when she talks.

Ha-ha, David Foster says, "Jackie was falling asleep backstage." Then he asks her, "Are you ready?" and she says "Yeah", gives a few waves and on with the show. I don't know if she really was asleep backstage, but this girl was born ready. Always great to see her performing with Foster. Today, at age 16, she refers to him as her "music dad".

There is an amusing story why she had to perform way past her normal bedtime. She had been earlier in the show in the tour, so she could then leave and get some sleep. But many of the other stars did not want to follow her, because after hearing Jackie, the crowd would never remember them. So Foster kept moving her later in the show, as the special closer.

Honestly one of the most amazing things of all time. Seriously any live performances (other than Jackie) I see now a days are lame compared to this.

Having watched her recent performances it is amazing to return to her earlier work and realise just how incredible she was back then! Yes, she has improved but she was definitely a phenomenon back then. Easy to see why she was persistently accused of lip-synching and using autotune. These videos are invaluable to see Jackie as she was when she was starting out and it is easy to see why David Foster was so impressed with her.

I do not mind it very much.(As for me, Jackie is OK in studio musician.)^^ As I like voices. It is Jackie to sing even if it is recording. I think that she really sang by an audition. Probably David felt the possibility of her voice. And He might make much of a timing to send it to the world of the show. I think that I want Jackie to leave a splendid recording medium from now on.^^ ※This is a thought of I individual. Thank you for your understanding. (^0-)/

Recent singings are very nice. Her only competitor is herself in younger age because I prefer the mezzo than current mature soprano. Also the selections of songs were more classic and spiritual than now.

I'm appalled that the audience had the opportunity to experience probably the most amazing talent of the century and jibber-jabbered all the way through :-( Jackie super professional as always and completely unfazed by them.

I've followed Jackie's career from day 1, and for some reason her powers as a child singer seemed to peak here. Not that there was much of a fall-off, but she was just so powerful at this event.
@brel32747 жыл бұрын
i think david foster has always brought out the very best in jme. having said that, her video of attesa and set me free, indicate that she is getting more powerful as she matures without losing any of range .

To those troubled by the audience I would like to point out that this is was a fund raiser and if you look closely people are sitting around dinner tables under no obligation to stop having conversations. I don't think anyone was being disrespectful and I think from the crowd's reaction, they were quite delighted with Ms. Evancho.
@Royalchess19 жыл бұрын
John Doe It's not entirely true that people were not under obligation to stop talking during the singing. All knew that JEM was going to sing, and they even knew what caliber of talent she was, SO, it would've been proper and respectful to put their full quiet attention in listening. And I could sense David Foster trying to get everyone's attention with that regard. I'm sure there were alot of the audience who were respectful, knowing they payed to see her sing. I would've loved to have been there!

Thanks for sharing this. But wow, the crowd! Were they all jibber jabbering away while Jackie was singing? I would not like that at all! I'm glad I've been fortunate to have gone to two venues where no talking.. or at least this loud, was allowed. The only bad part, no video cameras are allowed either. :( I'm glad you could get a record of this. I sincerely wish they recorded all of Jackie's performance, so that we could buy it all(!! :D); but most importantly, that it'd be save for posterity.

This event was professionally shot by a television studio crew (Full HD cameras/technical director, etc), and broadcast that night on a Phoenix cable system. It must have been recorded as well. I've e-mailed the CelebrityFightNight management, but haven't received a reply. There are numerous licensing and contract issues with any further release of the performances, so it's not likely that it will ever surface

+Skallelv2 Nice try!! But you;re about 6 hrs. too late...I saw WRITING earlier today. And I must say that Writings is, by far, this best quality video JEM has done, that is among the few that she did lately. If I have this correct, she's still doing her own hair and makeup in Writings which is very good...and I like the braids especially. And I'll say that JEM even did Juliet's hair/makeup. I would have liked to see more of Juliet's hair/makeup and wardrobe; she seemed relaxed, and that showed thru. And I also liked the editing...esp close to the end...very well done. If she reads this, I strongly suggest singing theme songs for the screen. This would be good for your resume, experience, and Oh so very easy! (FOR YOU!)

I saw another video of some event in which Jackie seemed to have Muhammed Ali and some other guy in tears. (I think she was singing Pie Jesu.) I thought it was "fight night." Was that this event? I saw wish there were some professional footage of this available.
@WastedPo11 жыл бұрын
Ah, you're right. It was O Mio I was thinking of. I believe I've seen that official highlights video before that you linked to. When I see that clip I always think, "Man. That event must have been professionally shot. So where is the full version?" I know there are bootlegs of it floating around, but I'd love to see a professional version of that event, as I'm sure all Jackie fans would.
