OOoh!! I have also just started reading the book, and find the books are nearly always better than the movies 😆 So far it seems as if you're right though, I've rewatched the series three times and haven't gone back to finish the book yet...

I think that's because the characters are very differently portrayed. If you have read the book first, then the movie would feel kind of off.

I read the book years ago.And I do prefer the show because you get to see more in depth of how they truly feel. As what's an avid Reader and someone who's older I can tell you it's rare and I how about 5 on that list

At the end of episode 4 they were sitting in front of the fire and Jackie was talking about her sister and how the teapot was her favourite, so her and Cole were bonding, that is what he meant 😊

cole and jackie both lost the closest thing to their hearts his was football and hers was her family. They both fill the void in the heart and soul that why they are perfect for each other.
