The more correct way is Lunar New Year, not just Chineses New Year. It is for people who follow Lunar Calendar, such as Vietnamese, Korean, Philippino , Taiwanese, Chinese, etc. it has been corrected in the recent years to call it Lunar New Year.

Hi Jackie, I'm Peach. My New Year's resolution is to advance my research work to a higher level, that will not only make my boss happy, but also pool a group of data for myself to prepare a grant proposal writing. My favorite holiday is the Lunar New Year even though I am staying in the USA. Usually, in the morning of Chinese New Year, Chinese people like to present an offering with food, meat, and wines to old ancestors reporting them what we have done and what we have forgotten to do in the past year, also confess if we have done something bad that violate Chinese tradition and disgrace ancestors. We Chinse are more conservatives than Americans, I think.

大多数国家庆祝劳动节是每年的五月一号，因此可称之为“International Workers' Day“。Well, Americans are different, so they celebrate the "Labour Day" on the first Monday in September. BTW, it's better to say "Duanwu Festival" instead of "Dragon Boat Festival", just my two cents. We Chinese are lazy people, we just eat "ZONGZI", don't want rowing boats.
