A close friend of mine recently died in a car accident last weekend, he was only 17. I went to his funeral and there was an open Spotify playlist playing of songs that made you think of him. This was first on the playlist and was playing while I was viewing him, it really had a new meaning now. Please drive safe, a car is not a toy and you’re not invincible. He had been having issues with depression and other things for a while before this, whether it was an accident or….. not an accident… it’s not my place to speculate nor do I really want to dwell on it. I remember seeing you before and in home room every day of junior year. I remember lighting things on fire in chem lab with you. I remember you falling asleep in English everyday and me laughing my ass off. I love ya man. You were too good for this world. How’s the weather in heaven? Come back and tell me sometime. 💔🙏 A car is a tool, not a toy please. If you have issues with depression or thoughts of suicide please reach out to somebody, please keep living. Don’t check out early because you got lost in the darkness. You’ll find the light switch eventually. Live a full life, it’s beautiful beneath the shining sun. You have an unmistakable mark on everyone you meet, no matter how invisible you feel ❤️

I felt the same childhood nostalgia that everyone felt, but I came to the sudden realization of what curious George means to me now. From a life of simplicity to that of studying and working, I now appreciate curious George so much more. The story tells of someone moving from a jungle, full of curiosity and imagination moving to a city, where people focus and are chained down by work and studying. Despite this, George is able to maintain his curiosity by going on various adventures and finding new ways to look at his new life. And although he seems sad to have moved on, he appreciated his friends and himself. For in the end, the only thing you need to be happy in your new life is maintaining that imagination, that curiosity you once had. That is what Curious George means to me now.

This song is a great example to not really talk/look down on children. When they’re at a young age they may not understand the message but it has a melody of happiness. Then when they grow up the message sneaks up on them and makes them realize to just be happy and kind to others.

Beautifully said. For every ounce of comprehension a child lacks they always seem to make up for in emotional intelligence and purity. Doesn’t matter who you are if you were young this song just seems to resinate happiness, and that’s universal. Once you become older you may understand the lyrics but that doesn’t mean you appreciate the message anymore than a child does
