God this episode was so good. The entire Coiny and Pin segment was excellent (DEAR GOD THE LORE) and the animation quality adds so much to it, especially the glitch effect at 12:18 (how did they even do that?? So cool looking.) The scene after in the LOL is also incredibly cinematic with a ton of interesting lighting and perspective changes. So many loose ends tied up as well. Good job to the team on this one, both story and animation wise.

Now this, THIS is one of the greatest, if not THE greatest BFDIA episode of all time, definitely on par with the quality of 5. The solving of lore (which I'll get to later) and writing style is so good. One problem I've had with TPOT is the pacing. It all feels quickly splattered together with not much thought and comedic moments. Characters say one line and instantly hop to the next, with no pause or anything inbetween. This aspect makes those episodes feel "rushed" in a way, so the laid-back and more peaceful storytelling and pacing in this episode really strengthened the soul of BFDI, that it shouldn't be blinded by the shortening of our attention spans, and should keep the slow and subtle pacing untouched (a core aspect as to why I love BFDIA 5 so much), the graphics and scenery really make the story feel so much more fleshed out and meaningful. At first, I thought the whole Gelatin and the gang escaping the fortress was just more filler, to add some excitement to the plot for little children to indulge and eat up on. Thankfully, the reasoning behind the eliminated contestants' adventures actually had plot relevance and admittedly carried the whole episode at the end. The motivation from Firey to recover Leafy was not only subtle but could also be understood by children. The vague blaze of flames signifying that Leafy knows who recovered her is just the cherry on top. The absence of a challenge and moreover, the absence of a goal in this episode is what truly soars, it really shows what the contestants are up to outside of competing. The lore solving about the recovery of Leafy, the new assets, how Donut was a vampire and much more is just SO WELL EXECUTED LIKE OMG WHO WROTE THIS EPISODE???? To conclude, I know some of you little rats out there will call me like the mayor of yapville or smth 😭🙏 but I'm just trying to improve future BFDIA episodes if the Huang Twins even see this comment. Great episode yall.

I KNOW RIGHT?! I wish they could see these type of comments we’re giving them about this episode. This is the most beautiful, picturesque, breathtaking episode ive watched out of the entire series. Like Coiny’s devotion to pin is crazy, how he literally went to the center of the earth just to see her again. Especially with the melancholic moment when Firey remembered Leafy by the leaves falling softly from the trees, sparking up enough in him to recover her but the bittersweet feeling of him leaving before she could even see him. It’s so damn beautiful.

GOD this has to be my fav BFDIA episode by far. the humor was on point in classic bfdia fashion, like dora ordering islands, them almost having the tpot intro, ruby's sisters just following her around on the yoyle bridge, and firey, gelatin, icy and rocky just having a fun, silly time together, but the way this wraps up all of the lore in basically the entire series makes me so happy. this animation was the best i've seen in a while from jnj and i hope to see more of it in the future. the fact that they could have 3 different storylines in the same episode was insane and created a way better episode than tpot 11. at first i was kinda apprehensive with the whole "character focused" thing, but tpot 11 and this episode opened my eyes, and bfdia 13 is the pinnacle of osc content currently. I love that we finally get to see the TLC/LOLers after so long and they actually sounded like their pre-split bfb selves, which was nice. it bridged the gap between bfdia and idfb, and hopefully we can see idfb morph into bfb canonically in the future as well. it was also funny how different they sounded back then and how jnj gave them different voices back then. the scene where coiny tried to bring pin back to her old self was so emotional and it gave pin more of a sinister vibe which i NEED more of in the future, and the fact that coiny did all of that for her gives their relationship way more depth and strengthens their duo. even seeing ice cube in the WTF makes me so sad she's gone, i miss her so much. bfdia was her best season by far and she was totally robbed. plus, firey, gelatin and rocky weren't half bad either and i love their little group dynamic. the only thing i would've added would have been spongy and yellow face into the trio, but regardless their group is amazing. firey recovering leafy has to be the sweetest thing i've ever seen, him looking at the tree and then remembering her was so awesome and it helped canonically too. their duo also strengthened a ton and it gave both of the characters much more depth. anyways, amazing job jnj, this is my fav episode of bfdi ever and the only one to ever make me cry. thanks so much for bringing this content into my life.
