I definitely think part of the difficulty from the original game was clunky mechanics. It seems way easier now than it did originally, or at least more so than people originally claimed. Maybe it's either people mis remembering or being inexperienced with games of this level of difficulty? I definitely feel DS3 is way harder than this but a lot of people said it was a lot easier.

It absolutely feels way easier than the original. I blew through 8 bosses before any of them killed me, ignoring the time I got myself stuck by rolling into a corner against the Adjudicator. Hell I even beat Flamelurker on my first try, which does not make any kind of sense to me considering how much trouble I had with him in the original. I don’t know if they made the game easier, the updated gameplay naturally makes the game easier, the difficulty of the original was misremembered, everyone (including me) played up the difficulty of the original, or if it’s a combination of the 4. Either way, I still love having this game back.

Don’t know what all has actually changed because I haven’t actually looked into it, and I don’t really care to to be honest, but you can now dodge in 8 directions. You were limited to 4 in the original. Like I said, updated gameplay naturally making the game easier.
