The penny sweets story was 100% accurate. As a 90's kid I remember them days well and you used to get to know which shop keepers weren't arsed counting the 100 sweets so you always were happy to see them instead of the one that always counted them out.

Every year on Saint Patrick's day seeing Jack act so Irish reminds me how American I am. Though I don't act American. I used to spell theater like that too, until my drama teacher in high school told me that you spell it like that for example "she took a theatre class" and it's "er" for "she went to the theater" so the "re" she said is the subject where as the "er" is the physical place/building.
