53:43 what I find interesting about this little exchange is how the references to COVID are becoming so subtle. Imagine if in the future somebody born after 2018 watched it. That person would have no real memories of COVID, so to them Ian asking "I wonder why?" and Jack replying "I don't know" might seem authentic. Even if they did notice that there was a joke there they might need to look it up. We see stuff like this for other things in the past. I'm sure there's tonnes of media created or set before 1995 where I'd need references, both subtle and explicit explained. So it's interesting seeing that happening to our own history in the present day.

Incredibly insightful video! Really had a blast watching this and going down memory lane as someone who's watched KZbin videos since 2010! Just one minor editing error: Around 47:44 Anthony moves his mouth, yet words don't come out. Outside of that, this was a lovely time! Considering this is an hour long video with interchangeable angles and video overlays, it's a good reminder of how much we take editing for granted, so I wanted to say good job with that as well! I probably wouldn't have noticed it if I didn't make films and edit myself (I've def had my share of mistakes). Overall, happy to hear from Jacksfilms and glad to have Smosh back!!!

I like this video because it kind of explains why the internet's sense of humor changed so fast. One year you have idubbz saying the hard r and then the next you have everyone lifting eachother up, and as someone who wasn't concerned with youtube drama but rather fascinated by cat videos it's nice to hear why straight from the horses mouth.

I did not pick up an explanation. What was the explanation that you got out of that?

@@toomanyopinions8353 They talked about how you could really just say almost anything on youtube, but when twitter came around anyone had a voice and people of groups that were offended could speak up and say "Hey this isn't cool." which back then was more "Let's fix this problem together" rather than "you said this thing and now I don't think you should have a platform" like it is nowadays.
