If Sarah had stayed on the show, I’m sure Jackson and April would have found their way back to one another, but given that one was staying and one was going, I was willing to accept a happy ending for her, even if it meant letting them go. But who knows? Izzie and Alex got their happy ending after all these years. Maybe when the show ends or Jesse leaves Japril will too. Beautiful edit!

Him choosing better for himself and her kids was the right thing and as someone who carries that trauma, and now acts as an advocate, I was happy to see it. I’m just sad Grey’s lacked the gumption to have Alex say it to Jo himself.

I dont think thats true, throughout their marriage jackson really tried to save them but april pushed him away to the extent that he realised he wouldnt be put first by her when he would need her to. It wasnt any of their faults, she was having a hard time and so was he due to the child they lost but thats what ruined their marriage. He needed her but she didnt need him and after that realisation he decided he cldnt be in a relationship like that. After he realised that she wont put him first he pulled away, and then she realised and tried to fix it. So essentially they both tried but it was timing that ruined it all. Even after the divorce jackson always looked out for april but she didnt bother that much about him in that aspect. He put in a lot more into the relationship than she ever did. And the thing that made him believe in god was when he prayed to god for april and she woke up.

Watching this is a rollercoaster of emotion ... as I still haven't braved watching their end as to me they will never be over, so I did not not know this had been Jacksons recent storyline. It's so bittersweet in the hardest way, to see him see things from Aprils viewpoint it must be breaking him apart going back over their relationship now she's just out of reach :( ,but I will tell you one thing nobody will ever convince me that any other relationship they have will truly last a lifetime, they will find each other again even if they are the most adorable old age sweethearts

My own heart broke when they were appart. Especially when they were raising their child and being friends again. I really hoped that they would end up back together. Then April almost died and Jackson actually prayed. In that moment I thought I was absolutely sure they would be together again. When Jackson didn't stand up the second time she was going to marry Matthew I was so disappointed.

Great video! I was sad about the ending they got. But then i realized that the writers of 13x16 clearly meant it as reconciliation , and Jesse and Sarah played it like that. I guess I also want to add some thoughts about this storyline they gave Jackson. Sorry for just writing an essay right here on your video. XD I've loved Jackson/April as a potential ship since before their first kiss, since that time when most fans were still saying April seemed really annoying, and yet I related to April and hated that people were calling her annoying lol. XD I loved the idea of her getting this kind of a ship. I love how many scenes they got before their time was up on the show and how epic so many fanvideos about them then have the potential to be. :) I have many feels about their storylines and all the angst the writers put them through. But this most recent Jackson storyline... I mean I hate it. But you forced me with this GORGEOUS, beautiful fanvideo of parallels and music to put aside those thoughts for 3 minutes and try to immerse myself in appreciating exactly what the show gave us, for better or for worse. That includes the ridiculous "surprise April married Matthew after all" plot too but also the, to me, frustrating and ridiculous Jackson became a believer plot. You captured exactly what the show was going for with this Jackson arc in such a wonderful way and I really appreciate that you have taken me more deeply into this storyline than I'd let myself feel drawn into it before. I am an atheist. I'm not even just an atheist, I'm an atheist activist and by some definitions an "anti-theist" who has been paying attention for nearly a decade to especially how hard it is for people who are fully convinced their religion isn't true and their god doesn't exist after having been deeply involved in believing, and interested in helping make life easier for those people, in reassuring them that they are not horrible people and that they can have a deeply emotional life without a belief in a god and all of that. I'm interested in how harmful it is for people to believe God chose to let their baby die or for them to feel overwhelming shame at having lost their virginity before marriage or all sorts of stuff like that and I'm on that side of the whole... thing. Religion is not often brought up much on TV shows, at all, so you may think atheists are in a better position than Christians when it comes to TV representation. But it's not really true. A very liberal Christianity or *maybe* sometimes Jusiaism with a belief in a particular form of God, and heaven is the norm on television, and you see it in many characters on Grey's Anatomy: greysanatomy.fandom.com/wiki/Faith_and_Religion . You see in Boy Meets World and Everwood and these shows I grew up adoring these casual references that of course God exists and it's very rare to have characters who aren't cruel, caustic, autistic, socially inept, and emotionally stunted ever be actual openly nonbelievers in God and in Heaven. I know many of us adore the nuanced role of Cristina Yang on this show, but let's be real, Izzie literally called her a robot because of how she acts when it comes to emotional stuff so for her to be the atheist character we got was just another stereotypical representation where religion is for people who are less robot-like. We got such a character in Jackson, I thought, although I guess all along I was ignoring that he did seem relatively agnostic the episode where Samuel is born because he did talk to God in the chapel then because April believed. Other scenes implied though he was pretty close to atheist representation that I crave. I do think the writers of the show don't know how to let anyone be a full atheist. Amelia was an atheist in Private Practice kzbin.info/www/bejne/p3iziWahgqx4qck and kzbin.info/www/bejne/baCqfXlnlNxrq8U and yet she believes in God on this series now, and Jo's abusive ex, Paul, had a fiancee Jenny who said "Do you think he's evil? I mean, I'm a scientist, and I think I'm an atheist. But there's a little part of me that's worried that the girl in Billings is getting an evil kidney." She seems only agnostic with that statement lol. Still these are more explicit atheist representation than I'm used to ever getting. Anyway I'm upset they decided to write a storyline where he "Found God" and it's mainly because we don't get to see another character losing their faith and never getting it back to balance it out, if you know what I mean. I wish they didn't erase a minority identity (atheists are not the majority of the United States population, Christians are) and it may be a selfish wish, but yeah. So this video focused so heavily on this arc that I've decided I hate lol... And so I wanted to share that I've REALLY thought all this through. That being said you made me appreciate that there of COURSE is beauty to be found in this storyline, and in fact the acting from Jesse Williams is so impressive and phenomenal and I imagine I might follow him wherever he goes after Grey's Anatomy (or his arc on it) ends. :) And I do love how you captured this.

GlamorousXOXO1 yes! April got in an accident very similar to Meredith when she nearly drowned, she almost died. Jackson then found God and prayed that he not take April away even though he knew she was dating Matthew again. (Yes they get back together). April woke up and heard him praying and mentioned later him praying to God. He tells Maggie later that one thing they never saw eye to eye on was God but after the accident now that he’s finally found God she was already married to Matthew and moved on so he needed to move on as well. I hope this helped explain it

i would actually love for april to come back. make a story about police brutality and her raising a quarter black girl...lets have her talk with jackson how it wouldve been for samuel if he was alive...let jackson explain to her ,,the talk''...there is so much to unpack in their co parenting..also i want matthew to be all ,,but not all cops'' ,,theyre just doing their job'' kinda way so april and him fight and it turns out he's far more conservative (now that would ne realistic with all the religiousness) .. and she realizes thats how middle class white christian americans can be and her saying sth like i still love you matthew but i cant accept this on harriets or samuels behalf...her struggling with her faith again...jackson consoling her and since he is now religious too they find back together hehe the end
