I had the pleasure of shaking hands with David Lindley in Grants Pass Oregon after he had opened for 'Hot Tuna' one evening a few years back. I had been mesmerized by his solo performance on slide guitars so when I caught him in the lobby during intermission I had to tell him how much I loved his performance. David was very cordial and seemed genuinely touched by the praise I was giving. I had been just starting on slide guitar myself and wish that I had the guts to ask him questions about it, but backed off and gave him the 'space' he probably preferred.... Nice guy!

David Lindley rocks. He can play everything / anything with strings... His look at Jackson, at 4:50, telling with his eyes: I'm tempting you to follow the easy refrain, c'mon... or what do you plan to do? And then, at 5:24 near the end, he wants to continue; of course, he listens to the several final chords from Jacson but he is ignoring them, in fun... Saw them play here in Madrid (Spain) circa 2006, I guess. What a performance...!

My favorite artist since I was 15. 60-70’s music was the best. Lyrics have never compared since. Lots of good artists in the 80’s but commercialism emerged and the studios began to control the talent of the person creating.

First heard this song, circa March, 1972, Mr. Browne opening for Joni Mitchell at D.A.R. Constitution Hall in D.C. He played the entire Saturate Before Using album, alone, on acoustic and piano. Surprised the hell out of me to hear the Eagles version on the radio that summer.

Nice tune - the violin solo takes this piece to a totally different level - "as for man, his days are like grass- he blooms like a flower of the field; when the wind passes over, it vanishes, and its place remembers it no more." Psalm 103 - Requiem aeternam dona eis Domine, et lux perpetua luceat eis. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let light perpetual shine upon him. +RIP David Lindley -

@karldroccogallant16654 жыл бұрын
Is a fiddle and a violin the same thing? The answer is a surprising “no.” A violin and a fiddle are the same four-stringed instrument, generally played with a bow, strummed, or plucked. They are identical in their physical appearance. ... The fiddle, in contrast, is associated with a wide variety of music styles including Cajun, bluegrass, folk, and country.

It’s often true that the songwriters own version is the best. It’s laughable that Glenn Frey even tries to take any credit, just compare all their other songs and you can tell who wrote this one 100%.
@orlyjohn66324 жыл бұрын
There are great versions of this song by The Eagles, the original album version, demo version, lots of brilliant live versions. But, when JB sings it you can tell it's basically his song.

Candy ❌❗️ABSOLUTELY. ❗️❗️❗️❗️ I took my girlfriend at the time (83) to see Jackson at Poplar Creek outside of Chicago, and he was doing the Lawyers in love tour. I didn’t know. I thought David was going to play. Instead, he had another guitarist. It doesn’t matter who. None of them have the Spirit, touch, tone, phrasing, melody theory, ETC. LIKE Mr David Lindley. When he just touches the strings, the majic happens. He is part of the reason I am an instrumentalist today. NOBODY accompanies Jackson with more intuitiveness than DAVID LINDLEY. ❗️ Period ❗️

Absolutely fabulous song ! Just one small thing - the line "she's so-o hard to find" as often done, is better than "she's just a little hard to find."
