Ever since I heard Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs sing this song in the mid sixties, it has been my favorite song. Jackson Browne and Rosemary Butler have taken it to a new level. Rosemary Butler's voice blows me away.

It's quite criminal that of all the wonderful songs this guy has written and performed over the last fifty years or so, there will be a lot of people out there that will only have heard about him through this song which is simply a cover from the early 60s and was basically used for a bit of fun to close out the "Running On Empty" album, but which turned out to be a surprising hit single for him. To all those in that category, please ignore this bit of candy floss and go and explore his real work and acquaint yourself with a true musical genius.

Well said brother Jackson Brown, has been the most " underrated ", singer-songwriter our USA, has given us. But for a minority of people, like us Jackson Brown is among our best, singer-songwriters of our USA. Peace, love and Shalom brother.

Mentioned this on other Stay videos. Jackson Browne is asking his band to Stay and play one more song. While I think there is a boy and girl on the dance floor and he is asking her to Stay for one more dance... which is the story in the original STAY by Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs.

Could someone please help? I've got a bet going on with my father. He says that David Lindley sang the verse before we see him on stage here, and clearly it's not. But is this woman here Rosemary Butler? If so, why was she styled/styling herself to appear to be of African heritage? I'M SO CONFUSED PLZ HALP
