I absolute love mine. I’m a guitar player but I needed a great sounding and playing bass for recording and I picked this one up at the music store and I was instantly sold. I went all the out crazy and picked the orange. I love everything about it!

@@jamesdykes517 I found no hints of a 5 string version. I'm in the process of buying a bass. As a guitar player I'm only shelling out the money for one bass, so it's going to be a 5 string instrument and if the orange (or rocket red) one had 5 strings, I'd get it. Still the black one screams Rock'n Roll and is probably my favorite right now. The other options are the Jackson Concert Bass JS3V - Metallic Blue Burst or an Ibanez SRMD205-SPN (medium scale !).

Rickenbacker makes 5s. With how protective Rickenbacker is with their IP, I’m surprised a big company like Jackson put something like this out. I like their design and I’m sure Jackson’s done their due diligence.

True, but if you really think about it, the only thing thats similar is the tail piece and the pick guard/control lay out. I'm a 4003 guy, but this is definitely a P/J 5.

@@weedywet and they will lose. This is a precision body with a Jackson spike headstock and P/J pickups. The only similar things are the pickguard and the tailpeace, but that's not enough.

The bridge look, the knobs arrangement and look, the pick guard, even the slash markers ... did the reviewers here IMMEDIATELY know what they're trying to look like? their own description here says "Don't be fooled by the Rickenbacker styling," A judge might very well ask experts if it's clear.

I like to say. I Love the channel. I do have the Jackson bass five string in the fire burst. And I Love the hell out of it. The difference tones I get out of it. I do play jazz/R&B and blues. It looks like it doesn't fit but I gets a lot of comments on it after a gig on how great it sounds. I coming out of a mini mega peavey bass amp with two 410 headliner cabinets and a peavey 15 cabinet and it blows people away. You two keep doing what you do. I Love the demonstrations you do on bass guitar. Keep the low end Grooving. Much Love.

The Jackson CBXNT DX (maybe Jackson will name a bass/guitar something coherent one day) has a fantastic aggressive sound. This bass guitar could definitely be used in any kind of rock or metal role, while at the same time this bass plays higher notes very well. However, there is a plethora of tones coming from this instrument's pickups and you could play any kind of genre quite well at a pretty good price.

Wait a minute. Jackson's website says 34 inch scale. Why is everyone saying the CBXNT DX V is 35 inch??? Because the 35 inch is the "CBXNT V" and NOT the "CBXNT DX V"... Anyways, I tried one CBXNT DX V yesterday and it feels terrific in the highest octave. One of the most comfy necks I've ever touched.

If anybody is seriously looking to get a Ric tone for cheap, look elsewhere. Neck pickup is a very vague approximation of a Ric and the bridge pickup isn't even close, and they sound terrible together. Either copy Fender or copy Rickenbacker, you can't do both with the same pickups. Also, played one at a music store with a bow and arrow string action and the G string still buzzed. Garbage.

Please, if possible, record a review of the Jackson CBXNT DT 4 strings. It seems to me that the 5-string version is very different from the 4-string version in several aspects. For example, the body (especially the white color seems to have a different thickness), pickups (model and reverse p).

I have the white/black pick guard coming in today after a killer Black Friday price. Honestly I love the look of a Rick but their first gen 5 strings have miserably tight string spacing, and their newest 5ers have very little in common with the 4 string counterparts, and they look like they were designed by a 4 year old imop. These sound great, look the part, and at 500 vs 2000 USD, choice for me was obvious.
