for me just the thought of spending $1000 for a chinese guitar leaves a bad taste in my mouth when i can get a MIJ ibanez for the same price with all top of the line specs. MIJ edge tremolo and tuners. you can get old japanese pro series for super cheap too, ive been seeing some for less than $450. you can spend an extra $300 upgrading the trem and parts and have a guitar that’s way better than the modern pro series

@@shanewilfon6860 Only the Crackle finish models according to this reviewer. At least for now.. There are 2 different Indo versions of the SL2 Pro anyway. I have the early PT Wildwood model with the metal backplates and laminate neck. The later model seemed like a bit of a step down in quality to me but the scarf jointed neck matched the USA model better, so... I'll reserve judgement on these MIC SL2s until I can actually inspect/hold/play one

Just had to come here and say I played one of these today and was SHOCKED at how nice it was for a chinese guitar, especially for the $650 used it was going for. Finish was great, no flaws and it played/sounded fantastic.

That bound ebony slab, tho!🤤 (Love the thru-neck joint - or lack of neck joint.,to be more accurate. All guitar necks should be thru-necks...Strats, LP's..even Tele's! The only reason to not have thru-necks is penny pinching...and that's important to the guitar companies, not us players!).

This is a beautiful guitar but because it is made in China Jackson should have just stuck a floyd special and Jackson humbuckers and charged $500 they would be more appealing to most but instead they put in high end parts in a low end instrument and charge too much thanks for your video very informative

Got mine today, but I send it back. It plays and looks great. But the workmanship is horrible. Especially on the fretboard (scratches) and the binding (deep scratches and flaws). There is one spot between fretboard and bindig with a deep scratch or a chiped off peace. Paid 899€ for this, but with this many flaws I wouldn't pay 300€. I can beat up a guitar like that by my own, don't need to buy a new one. Just a shame. I really want a Jackson guitar, but after this experience I have to think twice about it.

I have one of these, I can't find anything wrong with it. Sure it's made in China but who cares, it's such good quality it could have been made in Antarctica and I wouldn't have cared. The end product is what matters. I liked my Chinese soloist so much that I bought a second one, blue crackle

From what I understand the made in china aspect has something to do with the finishes on these You’re not sacrificing quality, its one of the best guitars in my collection Its still a Jackson pro series at the end of the day Just assembled in china after the Chinese finish maybe…

Jackson was much more qualitative before a shame to offer guitar made in china at this price. it was something else when it was made in japan the quality was impeccable.

$1,000+ for a chinese made guitar. you are better off spending like $1,200~ and getting a nice USA jackson with much better quality.

@@captaco22 That's what I'm concerned about. Being made in China, I feel like the quality control is going to be way lower than in their normal factories in Indonesia. Hopefully the 2021 lineup of pro series guitars won't be made in China
