Don’t worry, it’s good for him! All kids need the socialization! I work at a daycare, and trust me, he’ll get used to it in no time. Don’t hang around for too long for drop off, we have a few parents that do that and their kids are the ones that cry the most/longest/hardest after they leave. He will quickly learn that school is the place where he goes to play with his friends. Bring him in, put on his indoor shoes/take off his coat, quick kiss, and leave. Even if he cries every time you drop him off, just know that after he gets used to the setting, he will be done crying by the time you make it to your car.

I’ve worked in schools before. I’ve always felt that when the parents hang around it makes it harder for them to leave later. I suggest doing just the mornings or something then easing into longer days. Also kids usually are fine once they’ve been to school for a bit they get really comfortable with the teachers and classmates.

From a Preschool teachers experience. It’s completely normal for him to cry (and you) it’s a new setting and a new experience for him. I am an experienced Montessori teacher so take my word for it. Soon he will love going to school. Some children cry the first couple of days and they settle in fast. Others don't cry the first few days and once they realise this is something that keeps happening daily they loose interest; get emotional and it takes way longer for those children to settle. So it is good Jackson is expressing his emotions now than later.... He is the first born so he is experiencing all this for the first time. He has no older siblings to look up to and have that urge to get to school soon like everyone else. Trust me give it a week and he will love going to school 😊
