Jackson State loses 2 star receivers to the transfer portal

SWAC BUZZ I believe what's gotten lost in all of this is the student athlete concept. The transfer portal / NIL has really taken away the student portion of student athlete. I'm a living witness that a degree from an HBCU can take a young man or woman a long way in life. I wish these young men well wherever they go. I just pray that they will concentrate on their education first. Their are so many former football players who left college to go pro without their degree and have nothing today to fall back on.

Hopefully JSU can keep Rucker, Wideman, Quay, Gaines, Wilkinson, to pair with Seven, Isiah Kendall and Phillip Short. That will definitely be the most dynamic offense in the SWAC

They are Both Heading to Colorado. Remember when coach prime said he bringing his guys with him and he asked the former players at Colorado the receiver room dont be scared of competition and they were scared of competition. In that receiver room it were only 2-3 black players there. So he bringing in his receivers that have been around Shedeur for 2 years

I think most of his fumbles came from him trying to do too much after catching the ball.

@@SWACBUZZ true but Shane almost never switches the ball to the hand / arm away from the defender and almost never covers up the ball with two hands when defenders get close. That is why he fumbled so much.

I agree Hollywood Hooks nice… I believe hooks is going to Colorado if he still has eligibility. Because … like it or not NFL scouts have a low lack of respect for Swac and Meac talent. He would go to the league but might get lost in the draft pool and end up drafted in very late rounds. Thus signing bonuses would be low and dropping him on the team debt chart. Which would make it harder to be respected and move up on the debt chart in the NFL all because of coming from the SWAC. This is the harsh reality at the current moment.

No surprises at all with this one. If I was Shane Hooks though I might have tested the draft. He had a couple of ESPN highlights, and caught a lot of passes in the air raid. He might not be able to duplicate that going forth. He could have returned to college if he didn't get drafted.
