They played flat - running in slow motion - like everybody was thinking someone else would make the tackles. Special teams usually fixes their return defense after getting beat - but they kept allowing big plays on special teams. And the defense kept over pursuing. I'm looking hard at the COACHING. But with so many new players the head coach gotta recruit, inspire, and get the team to gel. But not just the Xs and Is Os but also the roles every player has on the team. Coach Prime played football and baseball in the same season - I don't think they'll let him coach two different college teams at the same time.

JSU DID make Deion as a college COACH. Deion said himself he would not be at Colorado if it were not for JSU on CBS after he left JSU. Deion had interviewed at SEVERAL FBS schools before JSU took a chance and hired him those being Florida State, Arkansas State and TCU and they ALL said NO. Auburn wouldn't even interview him! JSU was the ONLY school that took a chance on Deion who had ZERO college coaching experience.

The school responded to that claim that was spun out of context from a video Deion gave with Earn your Leisure with the school replying “Jackson State University has honored all financial obligations of Coach Deion Sanders’ employment. The video in question was filmed on September 20 on our campus. Unfortunately, a seconds-long excerpt using a hypothetical example from an over 60-minute interview is being used out of context and circulated as fact.” Deion was the highest paid coach in HBCU Football and FCS while he was at JSU with a base pay of $300,000 with other incentives that pushed his salary to 1.2 Million. JSU as well as ALL Mississippi public Universities are overseen by the Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning they know where every DIME is spent.

Our fans just traveled in DROVES to Atlanta just the weekend before and the stadium was sold out. Our first 4 games are on the road and Miami is an expensive trip. JSU lead the entire FCS in attendance even without Deion. We will be just fine.

@@Ray-ry8ye The first game in Atlanta was the highest attended MEAC SWAC Challenge EVER playing in front of a crowd of 24,238 in the Georgia State stadium drawing a larger crowd then what they normally draw. Making it the largest attended game since it moved to Atlanta. You can check the MEAC SWAC challenge info for reference. Also the game came in second as the most viewed on ABC that weekend only coming in second behind Notre Dame Vs Navy. All of our fans did not travel to Miami after JUST leaving Atlanta the prior weekend. The game vs Southern this weekend will be packed. JSU has lead the entire FCS in attendance for all home games. That is also a fact.

Lopsided game. Neither team played 4 quarters of football. JSU simply could not rebound from some big plays in the first half. A bad snap on special teams, the opening kick off return, and that bad "fumble" call are all that separated these two teams. Without those, it's a real ball game. I'm not seeing what everyone else is seeing. By the time JSU got their bearings, it was too late though. I doubt that call at the end would've changed who won, but the game would've looked much differently if it had gone the other way. FAMU can't live off of big plays all season. I think JSU will rebound. Yall swear this was the SWAC championship. Everybody just here to troll JSU. This wasn't as dominant of a performance as people said it was. Bama State are my favorite to win the SWAC.

JSU had 16 SWAC Championships before Deion got there (18 Total ) 4 NFL Hall of Famers with WALTER PAYTON being the most famous one as well as winning and loosing seasons and ups and downs like EVERY other school. They sky is not falling because Deion is not at JSU. Deion is exactly what he wanted to be a Power 5 head coach. If JSU and the city of Jackson can survive a water crisis we can survive a football loss.
