We're on vacation in New Hampshire this week for the nascar races.🏁🏁🏁 Camping on the race track grounds. Saw your video and had to watch. Can we perhaps get a video in the future that talks about things that campers have to think about and take preventive measures for. For example, security privacy, insurance, things like family safety and emergency situations. I mean there’s now a baby involved, so what do you do if someone gets hurt or need to go see a doctor how easy is it to drop everything and go? What are the extras we don’t see on cam, but should be a given for campers. Or maybe it’s a bit of a weird question and I’m not entirely sure how to ask but I hope I get my point across a little bit. I think it might make for an interesting video. Thank you for considering.

Sorry Jack, no handheld radio will have more then 10 miles. And that would have to be line of sight over water. I bought several different types of the GMRS/FRS handheld radios (462.000 MHZ to 468.000 MHZ) to test in Israel. The best we got out in the desert was 7 miles. The second time we went I used old hand held CB. Radios (26.000 MHZ to 28.000 MHZ) the CB.s worked much better and we had the frequencies to ourselves. But of course the CB. handhelds put out a full 4 watts of brute power as where the GMRS/FRS put out maybe 2 watts, depending on the number of batteries they use. CB hand helds use 8-10 batteries, so a full 12.5 volts. FRS/GMRS hand helds use 3.75 volts to 7.50 volts. A lot depends on humidity, cloud cover, the terrain and the time of day. Evening hours when the skip rolls in range can increase a great deal. I'm an old man so I prefer good old Citizen Band (CB.) but I use GMRS/FRS when I'm with my young friends and the units usally have some neat features like NOAA Weather band monitoring to keep appriased of bad weather! When you go to a body of water which is kayak-friendly, you could strap a kayak to the cabin roof, upside down, which would make it aerodynamic. You wouldn't take Olivia out on it until she was older, but you could each go out a ways with a Go Pro while the other one stays on shore with Olivia.
