I can't imagine my parents doing that to me and I was not an easy child by any means lol... lakimies111 as much as I see your point, a parent has more experience than a 10 year old and knows how hard it is to find a job or get on this world and maybe in michaels mind he felt sending his son and this goes for any parent who has such money to send their child to a place where you go because you want to go and go to get a more private and less distracting high standard education. Plenty of parents do the same, but at ten would you of known what’s best? No. You’d of kicked off because your friends weren’t going to be there. But parents know that those friends won’t always be the same ones you have when it really matters

@@lakimies111 I was sent to boarding school at age 10. HATED it but now at age 31, I am so glad my parents sent me away. It has made me a strong, independent person. I love Jack but I think he only focuses on the negatives instead of the positives he has gained there. Nothing is black or white.

Allyson Wonderland aw, a 10 year old is a small child still. Parents do what they know, and sadly his father more likely than not had the same treatment at home as a boy. It’s not too late for his father to nurture his inner child, and the extension of that is to be able to see that his son wasn’t a ”young man” doing menace but a boy that needed emotional support and to be heard. A hug too! It’s always interesting to see family dynamics because it speaks so much to what people could have been well off having more of. Usually it’s warmth, safety and a more visual love (hugs and kind words etc).

Boarding schools get a bad wrap. I went to a military boarding school and it wasn’t fun at the time, but I received an excellent education and really shaped me. It’s not for all kids, but for those up to it it’s great.

Jack clearly was acting out because he didn't want to go there and didn't really know how to express that. While his father was also unable to recognize the emotional toll removing him from his day school was having. I know I'm stereotyping middle/upper class Brits, but emotional intelligence and expression of true feelings doesn't seem to be a strong suit. Frankly it feels like they couldn't talk about this stuff unless they were filming.

@@denislemieux4915 at boarding schools (at least in my experience) emotions and feelings are things to be expressed privately and not in public. I attended St Mary's from age 11 and I remember one of the girls in my dorm crying on the first night as she was homesick. Matron told her to shut up and go to sleep as she was disturbing the rest of us and if she wanted to cry, she should go into the bathrooms or do it silently. Typical British stiff upper lip behavior

I was horribly introverted and shy as a child and being sent away for the majority of the year would have done me no favors.

I think you find this funnier if you understand the British middle-upper classes love of public school for their children and how where you went to school follows you (helping you, if it was a good public school) all your life. So many kids got sent to boarding school at a much younger age. Ten years old is a relatively late start for public school from what I’ve seen. Jack’s exaggerated window-licking sounds hilariously appalling for Michael! 😂 I love Michael’s ascerbic humour, and wonderful storytelling. He’s so loveable. Despite Jack being so posh, he becomes relatable by making fun of his privilege and acting the victim of traditional British upper class values. You two are the perfect duo.

I feel both for Jack and for his father. I was forced to change schools against my liking too. In my situation, my primary school lied to me and told me that it was such a shame that I was leaving. In the meantime, my parents were told that I would be leaving - either by my parents transferring me out in time or them expelling me the last day of term, leaving me with no school for the next year. I never knew that, until the year I graduated high school (and yes, this was confirmed by multiple staff of my new school that had been present at transfer meetings after I pointedly asked). I have seen how much it hurt my parents for me to resent them for a decision they made when stuck between a rock and a hard place. The alternative I always believed they should have chosen had never been an option. It also hurt me, being taken from my environment I liked to one I hated. It also hurt me, later, to know I'd been lied to, and that my resentment aimed towards them hurt my parents when they were not at all at fault. I have accepted that they made the only decision they could at the time, but it remains hard to deal with the pain it caused.

Love Jack. This video made me feel very sad: from his dad's claiming that a 10 y.o. boy is a young man and then without a blink of an eye admitting that he lied and tricked him into the "deal" - not a thing you would do to an "adult", to the scale of sheer bribery and nepotism. Takes guts to cope with this amount of controversy. This is definitely some unique and special genre - such disclosure requires extreme courage from both the artist and the viewer.

Think for the father too you cant just blame everything on him right its his own child as Michael highlighted Jacked was about to be chucked out of the previous school and after that he wanted to get him an all round school where they would prep you for life and other worldly things He tried his absolute best building relations and jack deliberately sabotaged the interview which in my opinion not a good thing to do but from a standpoint of an emotional 10 year old I can see it where he came from but not a good thing at all Michael tried his absolute best in getting what is the best for his child and I mean everyone can see that they don't have the best of father son relationship and it is brave of them to talk it out in the first place I mean many parents go at lengths to want the absolute best but on the other half damn Jake seriously needs therapy come what may its been too long he has been holding it all in with no outlet

@@alexia3552 there was a war in lebanon and his parents had to move to a desert like area in the north east of syria and his father who was a very famous surgeon couldn’t accept the idea of his eldest and only son at the time to grow up in such environment without proper education so he had to send him to a boarding school to secure his future and life.

It is quite sad . He’s got trauma but somehow he can turn it into his jokes. It’s not a mystery that most of the best comedians had many traumatic experience. A lot of people I know who has best sense of humour have had a lot of traumas or are struggling with even depression or anxiety

daisychain the rocking in the car at the boarding school arrival being dismissed as him being fit for the asylum, when he tried to self-sooth, because clearly his needs weren’t met, made one feel for him so much. And to move on your own at 10 is daunting. Many kids struggle to have 1 sleepover at that age, so imagine moving away. I boarded too, but for 3 years, and if I ever have kids it’s not what I wish to do. I would want them with me and meet their emotional needs, and enjoy being a part of their childhood.

I really don’t think this video is meant to be serious. Everything is a big drama when you’re 10, let alone if you’re taken away from your pals who you think you are going to play with for the rest of your life, but retrospectively I’m pretty confident Jack has long got over the sorrowful tragedy of having been asked to grow up a bit and get some education.

@@troyp9485 Yes. He sat with his arms tightly crossed in a protective mode throughout most of the video. The only time I saw him uncross his arms was near the end. When his father crossed his arms, Jack's uncrossed. The father uncrossed his and Jack immediately crossed his again.
