To me this is the Aurora's best collaboration so far. Jacob Collier and Aurora are outstanding musicians and have slightly different styles, but they give each other space, like in a good dance. It is a pleasure to listen to. My opinion on the eco-topic: It is a historic success of fossilist propaganda (from narcissistic billionaires like Koch, Murdoch, Putin, Musk etc.) that the majority of enlightened and educated people are still strictly neutral and reflect on whether the foundations of human civilization should be protected or not.

@mariafoslihansen78013 ай бұрын
@PeterCleff yes you absolutely should! Here is a bit of aurora I think is cool to know: Aurora write all her songs because it is her art and she just have a incredible view on the world and everything in us humans. She wants and is making the world/humans better. She is so raw, sharing emotions and every part of being a human. Aurora is a music genius and produce and write her songs. It's like a project for her, it's important for her. She study alot when making an album because she wants to say the right things because its soo many things she wants to say. She write one notebook for every album she makes and that notebook is now become a book. She have realised the one for her "the gods we can touch" album and now recently for her newest album "what happend to the heart". In the book we get a insight in how her process is while making the album. It's all from her deepest personal thoughts that can explain alot about how she felt while writing the songs, all the lyrics is there, her possible playlist, pictures, texts she read while writing. The coolest thing is seeing the study she did to make the album. In the newest book "what happend to the heart" she study the autonomy of the heart. It's extraordinary how she puts soo much soul and rawness into these albums it's not only music it's art and medicine for our souls. If you check out Aurora more you won't regret it. It's really rare what she has. When she is singing in live concerts she always has some songs we're people is totally quiet.

Nice reaction. I think It's beautiful and meaningful that musicians express their passions in all aspects through their art. They are less interresting when they'r just entertaing for the business and vanity of getting rich and famous as their sole priority. Even if I do not necessarily always agree (Wich I do in this case) As long as they are freely expressive like here. Not just convenient tools in a bigger propaganda machinery administered by others.
@PeterCleff3 ай бұрын
@@taccamine8312 you've nailed it. I maintain that all art that's worth making will reflect the beliefs of those who make it. To an extent, all art is propaganda. The industry is so full of music that has all the edges sanded off to make sure to not alienate even the smallest percentage of potential listeners. But the art that still matters in decades time, is that which is honest.

The studio version of Jacob's "A Rock Somewhere" is on his Djesse4 album - check his channel you'll find it there. You do not talk too much. If I wanted to listen to the music, I would do just that, but ..... I wanted to hear and observe your reaction. So , talk as much as you need to - that is the purpose of your channel. A little side thought: as I listen to you and other reaction hosts, I am often confronted with closing comments that "there is nothing that I can really say." They are often stunned. Once immersed in that dialogue of sound, words seem unsuitable or even insufficient, as it is cumbersome to reenter a system of language, incapable of using our obsolete "words" to express what we have just experienced. Anthropologists believe that we made sounds and tones - music - before we began to develop language. Perhaps that explains our speechlessness after listening to such rich music. How does one successfully convey the experience of a sunset or sunrise with words - you can't - you simply have to have been there to comprehend it (to be in that moment). Just a thought. Anyone else have thoughts about this?

@@rudolfboukal1538 so firstly, thank you! I definitely agree, I always want to make sure my videos aren't a replacement or a substitute for the actual music video. But also, I want to engage in the conversation these songs bring forth. And then on your point. That is beautifully put! I completely agree that music transcends language. I often bring up that a child does not become hungry once he learns the word for food. Similarly, we feel music way before we learn the words to describe the things we hear. And then finally thank you for pointing that out (the song being on Djesse4) I can't believe I missed it, but I'm almost happy I did, so I could experience the song for the first time with this video!
