Outstanding performance! He's been one of my favorite grapplers since I first saw him on WNO. I'm not sure if Jacob is that good at getting to ashi garami and finishing the heel hooks or if his opponents were that bad at defending it. Maybe both. Some of those finishes didn't look like his opponent even tried hard to defend the position and ultimate submission before tapping.

When Couch was destroyed by Ryan, I guessed he would try to solve the problem with PEDs. I guessed wrong. He is not on PEDs. Muscle bellies and connective tissue is close to the bone. He is "almost soft" in many places. When he applies force he tries to do it with as much of his body as possible. Instead of finding, like Ryan demonstrates, that his hand, or single pressure point is sufficient to move his opponent's body part. Ryan does this so much you can tell he has developed his "strength habit" with reps over time. Couch's skill set is much more pure, technical, and bio-mechanically sound. ... Couch! Yes! Let's go!

Promotes weight cutting by having nightime weigh in day before. Some guys are crazy they will cut 30 to 40 lbs. Morning weigh ins still allow this but recovering from this weight loss same day fighting gets exposed quickly.
