I am normally not a commenter type of guy, but I have to say: Your story and honesty is truly inspiring. I've been following you from the beginnings and after the first video of yours, I got into a point if a new video drops, I forget everything in my life and I watch it. I've got a Junior role 9 months ago and I have been learning consistently every day. Being a dev I'd absolutely the coolest thing!

not a software engineer degree also myself - just political science - always learning - starting from faculty as a system engineer - video editor - system tester - and now a full stack web engineer. The secret is to be open to learn. As always - you rock buddy!

Love the video man its always been a dream of mine to work in NYC, I just passed my Honours degree in Data Science and Analytics, and your videos just make me so excited for what's out there and what's to come in the future! And your whole monologue completely resonated with me, even though I just finished my degree I still feel like I'm at a severely junior level, I really have to start building projects and pushing them. 😅

Hey Jacob. your story is truly inspiring. I work in tech, specifically cybersecurity, and in the past couple of years I've been trying to get better in some programming languages for automation etc. Unfortunately programming isn't my forte, but I think I'm getting there and these videos surely help! All the best for the new year! 😊

I can relate, quit sales and did a bootcamp after trying to learn myself for years. the bootcamp taught me how to learn new tech, read docs, etc. paid by gov. so its worth, dont ever pay for a bootcamp yourself guys. Also got rly lucky getting a job in a startup as fullstack dev. Learned PERN in the bootcamp and i convinced the founders i can learn angular within a month. gonna start february and im excited. 3/4 months from nothing to job is possible if you really want it!

Jacob. Happy New Year mate. This video was a blast. Such a vibe and such energy! It is so amazing seeing you be part of this company that is learning and being successful. Your videos are like a breath of fresh air. It's so nice to see honest content like this. Thank you for sharing your journey so far and leaving absolute banger tips for the upcoming generation of engineers! Jacob; You are an inspiration. You're my inspiration. I heavily related to your story of trying coding for a bit and then stopping. I feel that in my soul. I am on my 3rd cycle with the willpower to really make it my absolute life mission to get hired in the spring. I'm only on the front end right now but I dream of knowing full stack. I want to keep developing my skillset and be a valuable team member to someone. Here's to 2024 mate. May you and everyone else achieve their dreams. Let's get it! 💪💻📱

good luck brother! dont wait with applying, keep applying when ur decompressing from coding. itll boost your motivation going through the job opportunities and youll be back at coding at no time. also, convey your learning ability and a "Can do" mentality in interviews. I had to realize they hire a junior so i shouldnt expect myself to know everything, if you dont know in the interviews ask them to explain and repeat their explanation in your own words. this got me hired whilst 1.5monts into my 3months bootcamp

But the elephant in the room is how you got a visa without a degree? That's usually a requirement or did I miss that part? Also I wonder if as an aspiring jr developer from the US would it be a good idea to apply to places outside the US? I also don't have a degree
