I have a buddy that started building watches a couple years ago and even after watching him do it countless times and seeing the incredible pieces he’s built, it still baffles me how people can build them; not to mention the guys that originally designed them and those who are still finding new designs. @@theguywhodoes1 I would say there’s somewhat of a premium for watch brands with heritage, i.e., the holy trinity. That said, the price is correlated to the level of the “horological complication”. The thing about Jacob & Co is that there’s no heritage, no secondary market demand, no complications. His watches are just novelty miniature engines, music boxes, roulette wheels etc. complications that have no natural place in a watch. No watch collector is interested in that type of thing. Soon not even the celebrities who are given the watches will wear them, the Arabs will loose interest and the Jacob & Co bubble will burst.

Yeah my Casio watch that I've been using since the mid-90s still works and it's still great to this day. It has an emergency whistle a very accurate compass and a fire starting rod and Striker. Only cost $30 and it works just as good today as it did when I first got it.😁

You all are Idiots don't you all think before you comment ,To show you all the process of building this watch they cramped the process into 1 minute but to actually build the watch it takes more than 5 hours or maybe even days because you have to check every if single gears in the watch are placed correctly in the right angle even if 1 millimeter changed accidentally the whole thing is going to fuck up . This is not like your normal watch you can get find in walmart or target which are made by machines in China, these watches are hand made because there aren't machines that could do such a thing like this man can plus its not made out of cheap plastic or metal these are made out of high quality materials like Quartz, Glass and titanium to reduce the weight while being super stylish, attractive and big . When they say it took more than 1 years to make this watch they mean the design they have to design this piece by piece from scratch and make thousands of prototypes to see if they work fine they have to make a good prototype until they make the perfect one like macanics do to make the perfect engine . You can't just go copy someone else's work and say we made it or go download it from internet and say we made it they have to custom design every single project from scratch that's what takes 1 ,2 years after to make the watch to sell to the public it would take 1,2 days or more than that . I am a 14 year old so I don't know much about these stuff this is the general knowledge that I had .
