Yep. The speed with most McDonalds food (except the quarter pounder, which is fresh and unfrozen) is down to the fried food mostly being "par-cooked". It just has to be fried a short time in store to be fully cooked and edible. Also, we have enclosed heating trays for busy times so not everything has to be dropped and waited on.

Lol, hearing you question how fast food is made made me laugh. I was a McDonald’s Manager and you make it, put it in a heating container which keeps the food ‘warm’ so you can access it quicker and make the food quicker. They all have timers you are suppose to follow so you don’t serve old food. You only microwave hot cakes, breakfast burritos and the old cinnamon buns.

fun fact: i worked at a mcdonald’s before and all of the food is stored in a freezer in the back, the chicken nuggets, burgers, chicken and fish aren’t really cooked more microwaved, fries are fried in a fryer, and the ice cream machine is never broke, no one just doesn’t want to refill it because u have to pull a 20 pound bag of cream across the store and put it into the machine and the food sits out for around 10-20 mins if no one orders it and then we threw it out.. not very sanitary but that’s how it is atleast where i worked

This is an old video but if you’re wondering- fast food places use a blast oven thing (same one as subway) and food takes 30 seconds to a minute to cook whatever you put in (also they have a warming section that should be a 20 minute stay in the bin and throw it out. and that’s why sometimes the food is stale tasting because they kept it in the heater holder for too long. But McDonald’s and other places also have a stove! (I don’t know their time limit for food)

Fast food isn't microwaved if it's chicken or fish it gets fried and placed in a plastic drawer in a warmer (strips generally go under a lamp in a fry bin like fries) and burger patties stand on a low heat griddle for a few minutes.
