The acai fruit is those berries in your acai bowl 😄😉They grow from an acai palm tree. I think you were talking about the pulp. Acai pulp is supposed to have more antioxidants than even cranberries; along with most other berries. There is also natural chemicals in acai that can lower swelling, blood sugar, and boost immune system. The antioxidants I mentioned, are supposed to be good for protecting your cells from damage.

The familiar flavor your getting might be nutritional yeast. So many vegan recipes use it to bulk up a mixture and make it thicker. It tastes like powder cheese with a nuttiness but has a very specific aftertaste.

Açaí are berries that look like grapes and the reason why you never see them in berry form in America is bc the go bad fast. It wouldn’t make the trip here so it easier to purée/powder it. They’re grown in Central America, maybe. I think

You can’t typically buy fresh acai berries because they don’t really have a shelf life.. they need to be eaten pretty quickly or frozen straight after picking. That’s why you mostly find them frozen or powdered.

Yeah, you have to mask the taste of those alternatives for them to be decent in many cases. Which makes them kind of pointless, unless you want lots of protein, you can just replace it with potatoes, eggplant or other things instead

I'm not vegan, though you should try vegan breakfast sausage patties. I was in some wilderness camping program awhile back, since you got to refrigerate pork, they packed these vegan sausage patties instead. I've never ever tried anything vegan that in my mind tasted like real meat before that. The flavor and texture was perfect(well texture was a little dry compared to a fatty pork sausage patty, not perfect, but perfect if imitating a little dry sausage patty, the flavor was perfect though), was just less fatty than pork sausage. Though if you told me it was just very lean pork sausage, I'd believe you. I'd honestly not mind eating that daily as a breakfast sandwich(probably healthier too). No clue the brand, but them thangs were bangin.
