Hell yeah.. oddly enough I ran into a girl I hadn't seen in 30 years today. She had an 83 when we were in school. Looked just like knight rider. Ahh youth..it's wasted on the young😝

Yep, that's what it was like in the 80's for me! I lived it! My Firebird was a 78 blue, Smokey and the Bandit style, with the big Firebird on the hood! And I was definitely rocking some Van Halen! 😎

Thank you so much for the video. I had the same blue 89 Firebird I bought brand new for $12,000. I traded it in June 22, 1996. I had it for 7 years and put 177,000 miles on it. To this day, I still dream of the car after 24 years of trading it in. My all time favorite car. All black inside with a awesome stereo with 2 10 inch subs in the back covered by carpet. No one could ever tell I had a system. I remember driving to L.A., and driving around Hollywood with the stereo blasting after smoking some weed. I was in a zone. It was a rockers car for sure. BF Goodrich tires. I had it put in the shop for a new paint job and when I got it back, it was better than I ever imagined. I fell in love all over again. They detailed the whole car to my surprise. I'm still trying to find me the same 89 blue like I had with black interior. Serious, when I have those dreams of having it again after waking up, I'm in a depressed state. Favorite car of mine. Loved the pop up lights. I had dual exhaust. And for being a 6 cylinder 2.8 liter, it roared. Thanks again!

This is 2024, I was in high school in 1984. It just occurred to me that Van Halen's 1984 album is 40 years old. And here I sit watching Millennials trying to live a year from 40 years ago. I cannot imagine my peers of teens/early 20s kids running around in 1984 rocking to Fred Astaire, Glenn Miller or Bing Crosby in their 1944 Pontiacs. I guess what I am trying to say is, that in 1984, we kids were looking to the future. But what future do today's kids have to look forward to? Just goes to show how far advanced music, movies, cars, and technology were in the 1980's. These kids today are really complimenting a kick-ass time in history because the 1980s really were a better time than 2024!!!! By the way... those are a couple of beautiful cars!

Very cool vid. Thanks for posting it. Brings back memories for sure. In the summer of 87', my sister bought a new IROC with a manual / t-top and I bought a GTA hard top automatic (Pontiac didn't offer the 5.7 liter engine with manual and t-tops in the US (but they did for the Canadian exports) and I wanted the largest engine available for that year). Unfortunately she sold her IROC a few years later but I still have mine today :) Looking forward to seeing more vids like this of your 3rd gens!

My mate from the Band all these years later wondered why I follow Jacob and this band. He recognized the music, but... Well, I sent him this, and said "remember (sadly 30 years ago) when we did shit like this?" He replied with just the emoji of the big grin! He gets it...Rock the fuck on!!!!
