Don't worry at all for looking weird or not having super amazing studio setups. Just remember your viewers specially for this series are not "tech" consumers. All we care about is clear cut info and see you work on your projects. Sincerely : )

Regardless of what may be said about your videos, the truth is that they are always well done and full of proper information with explanation total relevant to the topic. Also for the readers, I am being completely balanced and impartial.

Xilinx absolutely kills it for hobbyists because they provide a ton of IPs for free - things like DDR3 controller for example, and you will quickly realize that this is really a big deal as most FPGAs have very limited utility without fast memory. I started from Altera but then switched to Xilinx and never looked back! Xilinx's documentation is IMHO also superior in a way it's organized. Vivado absolutely rules BTW if you bother to learn the tool, and 7 series devices are absolutely superior to older devices in almost any way that matters. BTW 7 series are not "their latest and greatest" anymore as they have UltraScale and UltraScale+ families now. Also I love BGA packages as they are much easier to route and have much more available IO pins. And if you think that there are too many IO pins on FPGA packages, once you start actually making boards with them you will very quickly realize that more pins is a huge advantage, not limitation.

Good videos dude. Make a 2020 video to show us updates. I'm currently working on my whole infrastructure fully through VM's on Hyper VM + Proxmox. Soon enough will start using Docker on my Raspberry PI 4.

In general you can just search up something like "fpga development board" and see what comes up but here are a couple links. www.ebay.com/itm/Altera-FPGA-Development-Board-CYCLONE-IV-EP4CE-Core-Board-TFT-Video-Card/112550068329?hash=item1a3481c069:g:VH8AAOSw5YNZufvi www.ebay.com/itm/Mini-Core-Altera-Cyclone-IV-FPGA-EP4CE6E22C8N-4Mb-Flash-Development-Board-Module/182538616432?hash=item2a80263e70:g:5R0AAOSwJ4hY-Xb3

Which is more bang for the buck for beginners? The right or the left board?

They are both practically exactly the same just different looks and pinouts. Whatever one you can find cheaper. I looked for the red one last night and could not find it but I'm sure they still sell them. I think they both cost me $30-$40 each.
