This was an impressive and detailed account of the tour of St Nicholas Abbey. You spotted things I missed. The barometer, vintage cameras and some of the classical paintings.

Thanks for watching. There are so many historical nuggets in the house. I missed many.

Lovely but the background music drowns out the narration, it was impossible to hear the young lady and I would have liked to understand what she was saying. But thanks for posting, the picture was clear and sharp, and you took time with the panning of the scene.

Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. I do understand the issue with the music. You can used Closed Captions if that helps.

I visited many many years ago... not easy to understand someone speaking through a surgical mask... I remember the owner doing a bit of house painting and chatting with visitors, and old home movies being played on a look in (I think) the stables.

I meant to say, on a loop. And I think the house is the only one on the island with a fireplace.

Thanks for watching and sharing! They still play the movie in the stables!

@@bewareofpigeons im not sure that your point in fire places maybe correct. It maybe the only public place with one that still exists.

A few "fun facts"...I do not claim them to be uncontestable but base them on experiences during my few 55 years living here... 1. Sometime during recent times, the "St." part was added to the name as I remember the place just being known as Nicholas Abbey. 17. (I like prime numbers) Another artifact donated to the property is a saddle cloth from a horse that ran in a popular race at a popular racetrack in USA, by the owners of a 5 Diamond hotel on the West Coast (they owned the horse also)... 37. The property was central to a movie filmed in Barbados named Black Snake- do a KZbin search for it and verify for yourselves...at least unlinke Island In The Sun, the building didn't suffer the fate of burning flat (knock on wood)😢 for you movie buffs, The Tamarind Seed and 2 others including Mrs Marple were also filmed in Barbados...have fun solving the mystery of the other two😎 A look at the waterfront in the outer basin of the careenage in Bridgetown gives you a glimpse of the Dutch gables architecture of those days back then, which is remarkably similar to what may been seen in the former Dutch colony of Aruba... With all these "ditties"...feel free to check them out on your own...doan tek my word blindly... Thanks for the tour and keep up the work... The link between Barbados and the Carolinas is manifested in this property...great heritage tourism👍🏼
