I'm throwing my guitar away....well played
@DaveDaShrubber4 ай бұрын
I have a suggestion. If you're throwing away your guitar, you should have a friend of yours sing I Gave My Love A Cherry at a party while playing your guitar. At a prearranged moment, you can grab your guitar and smash it, while your friend who was singing can pretend to be astonished. You'll give your friend what's left of your guitar and say "Sorry" and everyone at the party will think you're funny as hell.

Awesome!!! I'm trying to figure it out... Are you in an alternate tuning??
@JacobJohnsonTunes8 жыл бұрын
Hey William! I keep that guitar tuned down a half step so I can sing certain songs a little more comfortably. The arrangement is in Am, so when you factor in the flat tuning, and the capo on the 2nd fret it works out being Bb. Didn't mean to make it so tricky! That's just where the guitar was when I was shooting the video, sometimes I just play it without the capo altogether.

Thanks!!! I heard you perform this as CAAS and loved it. Great arrangement!

What tuning is this in?
@JacobJohnsonTunes6 жыл бұрын
Vivienne Azarah I believe I’m tuned to Eb in this clip. Standard tuning just down a half step.
@JacobJohnsonTunes6 жыл бұрын
Tuning is standard, but to Eb instead of E. Then I capo'd on the 2nd fret. I promise I wasn't *trying* to make it hard to figure out! I normally play in Eb because it makes most things easier for me to sing, it just makes this particular song a little low for me so I capo up instead of retuning.

Amazing oh my gosh You get a big OOF
@wweHBKfan115 жыл бұрын
I like it but maybe chill with the flashy stuff. A bit unnecessary for this song in my opinion.
@JacobJohnsonTunes5 жыл бұрын
... but this *is* the version with less flashy stuff 😬
@wweHBKfan115 жыл бұрын
@@JacobJohnsonTunes my favourite is the Turin brakes version. I feel as if that is a better version for me. But no doubt you killed it for what you wanted to do. It's all taste I suppose. Also by flashy stuff I don't mean production or extra instrumentation. I mean letting notes and chords ring out instead of rushing scales to add more to the excellent songwriting that's already there. Musicians and live audiences would love this but Mary Poppins fans probably won't. People listen to covers because they already know the song so every unique input you throw in should follow the song's logic and storytelling through it's melody. That's goes for most folk inspected songs anyway. I hope you get what I'm staying as I'm clearly having trouble explaining it and that I don't come across as a hater. As I said it's all about taste so if this is what the song sounds like in your head then I admire the effort and different perspective.
