I would like to correct my previous comment. I hadn’t watched the whole video at that point. You’re dead on about why we need a social for that amount and why we can’t really tell the whole truth. We can say “we’re federally required to have your information on file for this transaction” but we cannot say why. If Nevada gaming or compliance found out an employee was telling guests how avoid a reporting threshold, immediate termination, revoke our f their gaming license, and, potentially, if serious enough… even jail time.

I worked in casinos in Reno in the early eighties and I’ve seen the degenerates and met some movie stars at the Hilton and yes, I knew two people that committed murders and suicides. I’m glad I left after a couple of years, my own gambling and alcohol addiction problems were not a good mix. PS, I’ve been sober now for 35 years and don’t gamble anymore either. Agree to tip cash whenever possible. I sometimes do both for exceptional service, auto deduction and cash on top of that. All of the folks in hospitality that I've talked to prefer cash, to avoid automatic tax withholding, and in some cases, to avoid their boss's taking a cut for doing nothing.

I worked all over Las Vegas for 15+ years. Hooters Hotel was the worst for bugs in the rooms, roaches in the restaurants, and feathers in the wings. One of the girls (hostess) got murdered while I was there. She met a weird customer when she was off work. They found her body in the desert a few days later. I've also seen several jumpers and murders through the years as well. Bally's had a shooter at Drai's night club you can still find on KZbin. I was at Paris Casino when a crazy young woman decided to drive her car down the sidewalk and mow people down because she was awoken and asked to leave when sleeping in her car with her infant child at Planet Hollywood's parking structure and was angry about it. Vegas is full of craziness.

Nothing irritates me more than mandatory gratuity on a dinner check. I worked food jobs for a decade and I always leave a tip but at that point it's no longer a tip. It's extortion. Telling me I have to tip is the sure fire way to not get tipped. It's supposed to be performance based.

I've only seen that at a couple of places. I'm used to it on groups of 6 or more. They typically get 18%, then I can add as I wish. They do that because those large parties take up time and space and if they stiff the server on the tip it's ridiculous.

Great segment Jacob. Been dealing on the strip over 15 years, info is on point. Not much to add except a dealer who "hot" tips or asks for tips is extremely frowned upon not just by customers but staff too. It's rare that I've seen it but it does happen. And I remember a day when someone jumped off the parking structure and unfortunately committed suicide. The only way I knew this was to ask a security guard why there was tape off and ambulances and etc. It was done very quickly. Never heard a word about it in the news. So the suicide thing is definitely legit. It's a great city, but please gamble responsibly because as most of us know, games are in the casinos favor, and yes you can get lucky, but yes you must be realistic. Cheers.

Always inspect the room and bedding for bed bugs. Look in the bedding and seams of the mattress and along the headboard. Never place clothing in the dresser drawers. Use the luggage rack or keep suitcases in the bathtub. If you ever get bed bugs. Hot steam. Laundry and dry all linens and clothing . Then use cimexa behind the wall voids and hit everything else with crossfire. Then 10 to 14 days later hit with a reapplication of crossfire.

Luggage racks are a no go also - bathtubs are the safest available strategy. But... for those of us that fly to Vegas, carry-on and checked bags are also intermingling with bags that have clothes that had been packed into dressers, laid on beds, etc. Heat kills bedbugs effectively (aim for at least half an hour at 140 degrees F to ensure killing eggs, but 120+ will start killing the live ones.) So after getting back from a trip, since I live in a fairly hot location, I just leave my bags in the car for a couple of days.

I have heard the old saying, "Vegas was not built on winners!" And this is absolutely TRUE! Most people who gamble LOSE! Now if you are a gambler visiting Las Vegas and you are losing every time you gamble at whatever (Slots, BJ, Craps, Roulette, Poker, etc....) what do you think the odds are you are going to be tipping workers for this and that, while you are not only losing your money gambling, but being gouged with excessively high costs of everything and being gouged with every fee under the sun for your stay in Sin city?! I'll give you good odds that between inflation, hidden fees, and gambling loses.....tipping has gone way DOWN or does not exist for many visitors.

I was staying at NYNY in July, I am a big tipper. Well one night I sat at a machine for over an hour and no one came by to offer a drink. The couple sitting across from me were getting drinks often. I asked the girl if she could get me a drink and she told me I was not in her station, that someone would be over soon. ( nope never happened). So about 30 min later I asked her again telling her i had been there for over an hour and no one has come by, she said she would bring me a drink,. she did not. So I asked the floor supervisor, i guess they were calling in help. I finally went to the bar and paid 11 dollars for a small glass of wine. I was not happy. I went to the high limit room and was ignored there as well, however i found out why there because the bartender was swamped by a group hanging in the bar. I had a machine that malfunctioned in the high limit room and it took someone 40 minutes to come and fix it. Yea I went to my room after that I was not having fun.

I'm noticing something about the smaller and larger cup. The cup that is "larger" has a taller solid base within the cup. I bet if you fill the "smaller" cup up and pour it into the "larger" cup, it'll be the same amount, or damn close to it.
@the-chillian
@the-chillian Жыл бұрын
About the cup thing -- the diameter of the cup makes more of a difference than you might think. A taller cup might look larger, but its volume increases directly with how tall it is. However, the volume increases with the *square* of the diameter. As an example, suppose you have a cup that's 6 inches high and 3 inches across. That's about 42.4 square inches, or 23.5 oz. If you increase the height of a cup by an inch, you've increased the volume to 49.5 square inches or 27.4 oz, a difference of 2.9 oz. However, if you increase the diameter of a cup by an inch, it now contains 75.4 square inches or 41.8 oz, a difference of 18.3 oz! So by giving you a narrower cup, you're getting a MUCH smaller drink than if they gave you a shorter cup even though it doesn't look that much smaller.

Almost any business that handles a transaction over $10,000 in cash has to report it to the government. And if you take more than 10,000 and break it up into smaller amounts, they can still arrest you for money laundering or structuring. But I've watched plenty of card counting blackjack videos on KZbin and the cashier will sometimes want ID for just a few thousand dollars.

You don't get arrested for the $10,000 rule. Its a report the government requires. Its called a "Cash Transaction Report" aka "CTR". It is a way for the federal government to trace large cash transactions. All business must comply with it. Under federal law, if you are at the $10,000 limit and you refuse to produce valid personal I.D., the business is legally bound to refuse the amount over $10,000.

What most people don't understand is that in some states the servers still get paid the same minimum wage as anyone else plus of course their tips on top of that. I know servers in California who make more money per hour then some highly-skilled technicians. But of course it depends on the town and the restaurant you're working at. If you're working in Alabama in some small town coffee shop, you're not going to be making a whole lot of money.

22:00 In blackjack, even money is the same as insurance. They are only offered when the dealer shows an ace. Even money is what the player is offered when the player has blackjack and insurance is what the player is offered when the player doesn't have blackjack. So there's no "the casino doesn't offer even money because they want you to take insurance." When the dealer has an ace showing, the player is offered one or the other depending on whether the player has blackjack or not. I've heard that at some tables that pay 6:5, the casino doesn't offer even money, but they don't offer insurance to a player with blackjack either.

As a former valet, can confirm you absolutely want to tip on the front end. Most people tip on the back, but the hotel I worked for had a small garage and a surface lot we used for parking. On busy weekends, you absolutely were not getting in the garage if you didn't tip. Not only was the garage quicker to retrieve your car, it was protected from the elements as well as random strangers who could walk by. We always had once or twice a year where someone got their window smashed. Lastly, people who tipped definitely got to cut in line when we got busy. If you care about your car, definitely tip your valet.

Former dealer of 8 yrs. The one about cashing in chips is 10k. Its not for their own security as they dont care, but its part of money laundering tracking. Its like "Title 21" or something like that. Employees arent allowed to tell you about it because if they tell you how to avoid the tracking they are technically helping you break a law. I also believe it is tracked over 24 hours as well. Quit 5 years ago so I dont remember all the little details. But def 10k asking fro ID is to make sure youre not laundering money and using the casino to do it.

@dalebaxter5920 you never HAVE to color up. And if youre not playing under your players card they have no ID to go by. Plus you can taoe chips from table to table. Or cash out so you can go eat. The only real time you see this go into effect is large buyins/cashouts. The other stuff like buying in for 1k. Betting $10/hand then leaving is also money laundering clues.

Great info! Was watching another youtuber and he mentioned that there are tax forms when you have winnings of $2000 (or $1999?), but in most cases I thought winnings will be in that persons name anyways. Safety makes a lot of sense too, but the Casino can probably support you with that since they want you to win since your likely to come back.

Tip the housekeeping when you check out and do out allow them in your room daily. Make sure no extra charge is on your bill. Bring a couple of kitchen trash bags so you only need room cleaning every other day and never let them in your room without you there!! Tip dealers what they hit on, tip valet 3 bucks and tip bell boy 3 bucks a bag.. tip 15 percent to hair dressers, massage people and 15 percent for a meal. Tip cocktail waitresses 1 dollar for beer, 2 dollars for a cocktail and no tip for free bottle of water. Always get a water if water with whatever drink your order. Be careful of thieves and con artist. Keep an eye on your purse, wallet and phone. A bag around your waist is great. They even have tip hairs from the bathroom cleaners. 50 cents is fine for that!! where tips start at 25 percent and leave 15 to 18 percent tip. DpaDo not accept service where tip is added before service which is most of the spa services. Even hair dressers are getting crazy with tips these days and nail salons. Best to have a weekly customer that tips 15 percent that once a month client that tips 25 percent. Tipping is getting way out of hand and more of an entitlement than a kind gest😢ure.
