I remember it like it was yesterday. The year was 2018. I walked into class, an overwhelming sense of dread drowning me as I silently took my seat next to my rather unwanted classmate. I knew what was coming. My maths teacher, who dare I not utter his name, took his seat at the front of the class. Chatter faded to silence. I held my breath. "Alright class, write EUIV in the corner of the page". I did so. "Here are your questions for your silent starter." All eyes turned to the board. Those d*mned silent starters. I still recall my bitter hatred for those 10 questions, my severe lack of intelligence showing me up as I sat, in vain, desperately trying to conjure up an answer to them. Alas, I was like a knight who had forgotten his armour. The last note played. The time was up. I'd glance at the board in fear as my maths teacher displayed the answers. Many of which I had gotten wrong. The sheer embarrassment was a heavy weight on my mind as my maths teacher ranked our scores, with me once again occupying the bottom ranks. It was as if I could feel, right on my skin, my teacher's disappointment as I announced my score to the class. Finally, the silent starter was over. However, I never forgot it. The background song, this exact compilation, played over and over until every note burned like hell into the back of my troubled mind. That final note that failed to bring me relief. Yet I must say, thank you Jacob, and my maths teacher, for the memories brought by these well-played soundtracks.

And in our extended family the ones who love dancing the most are the deaf ones. So, there is music in all of us, we just have to ... look for it!
