This interview made me miss Jada in a way that we haven’t seen her in a while. This is how and why we came to love her. The public zeitgeist has a way of marring and misshaping that. Thank you Lena for portraying her in the way that we should revere her. As a golden queen of the screen. Her artistic contribution and how she portrayed the young Black woman of the time shaped our generation. She gave the “around the way girl” regality and substance. Which then made way for the future Taraji’s and Teyana Taylor’s and such. 🙏🏿✨👑

Jada deserves so much more respect than what she gets. Lena is correct that Jada absolutely provided a cultural shift every time she stepped onscreen. There were many Black actresses who I appreciated seeing growing up, but Jada was different. She felt like a real person who got the opportunity to play in such a fantastical world while bringing her realness to it. I appreciate everyway she has chosen to show up in the spaces of art, media and entertainment. She is one of a kind.

I’m crying now again. Yes! Lisa Nicole Carson definitely a gem. So miss her presence on the screen. I agree. A God wink for sure on the name Lena. I love seeing Lena’s eyes light up when speaking to her guest . She’s an interviewer but her adoration for each of her guest in apparent. That Peaches role was for Jada. What’s for you is for you I couldn’t imagine anyone else playing that character. Thank you Jada for breathing life into so many amazing relatable characters that made us think, laugh & cry. Thank you Ms. Waithe. These conversations giving ! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Loved this conversation! JPS is so iconic, talented, gorgeous, authentic, full of wisdom & depth. She is one of one and very much needed back on our screens. It's so good to remind those who might sleep on her talents in front of & behind the lens... that she was n STILL is THAT girl! This podcast is refreshing, provides a safe space for the guests & allows each person interviewed to be shown in their true light 👏🏾

I have much respect for Jada especially after the recent years. She’s a revolutionary woman. I’m glad when I see her pop out, do interviews etc. She has a particular type of resilience that black women keeping it real can relate to. This was great Lena, you had me giggling during that Matrix piece and I love that Jada didn’t go there with you. This reminded me I gotta read her book. Much love to Jada ❤

What a beautiful and important piece of history you're documenting, Lena! I've watched all of these and am so here for the verbal and visual bouquets you are giving these excellent people. Seeing and hearing you express your gratitude to Jada and her receiving it is such a treat. Capturing these words at the end was such a loving and important part of what I think makes your channel special. "That is how much you mean to me... I'm grateful for you...all the girls out there who are a little bit tougher- not because we want to be, but because we have to be...I love you. I appreciate you. I'm happy that we have this conversation on record, so it can forever live, so people can know that we existed" -Lena Waithe to Jada Pinkett Smith Please keep creating! I'll certainly keep watching!

top 10 Best interviews I've seen this year! and I STAY on KZbin, because Lena was PREPARED and she had a personally connection with her roles by way of inspiration and even her name it allowed us to see how Lena from a different world became Peachez from Low down Dirty shame then became Naomi from the Matrix and Stony from Set it off to lyric in Jasons lyrics (which i think is so underrated along with the inkwell) it shows the journey of a somewhat Banjee girl becomes a zen and fully realized woman mother and business woman and wife!!! I've been hoping people would see Jada like this because I really have always loved her and i think she is an ICON in cinema and especially black cinema. No one knows THE WHOLE story of peoples lives so we shouldn't always jump to persecutions. And just to remind the folks!! AUGUST is the one that brought up the situation with jada! AUGUST not Jada but jada had to respond so she did on her show that she owns. WILL already knew and WILL was doing dirt as well if you read the book and watch the red table. LETS stop always going at the BLACK WOMEN PLEASE there's always more to a story.
