Jada Toys Walk-Through San Diego Comic Con 2022 Mega Man, Street Fighter, Universal Monsters

By far the most exciting toy company at SDCC this year for me. I’m not super into the food mascots or the monsters but I really like that a company mostly known for die cast collectibles is really trying to break into the action figure market. I saw another video where they said they were trying to mix import quality detail and level of articulation with more domestic style and if Storm Collectibles has proven anything, it’s that that idea works! They also said they were really trying to find their footing and their identity as a company and I really appreciate them experimenting and trying new things. I’m mostly excited to have domestically produced Street Fighter figures (which hasn’t really happened since SOTa toys) and a properly scaled Mega Man for the Smash collection. But I really hope this company gets more licenses! I’d love to see what they’d do with the Resident Evil Characters, or perhaps other fighting games like Darkstalkers. In any case this is the highlight of SDCC toy news for me. Hasbro may have left me underwhelmed but Jada has my back!

I had heard of jada because of their 1/18 figures, but I'm more of a 6'inch figure guy. Its very cool to see them come out of the woodwork with this new philosophy and figures. The street fighter figures are on my radar now and im more invested in jada now. I'd really want to see them make some based on the 2003 Teen Titans cartoon, since Mcfarlane only released cyborg.

@@CollinandBri yeah, but Storm Collectibles are pricey. I'm okay with paying 22-25 for marvel legends and DC, 40 for Neca. But no 6in-7in figure shouldn't coast 100 bucks. For that price that you better last till the end days or be used as a lethal weapon

Jada has a bright future ahead of them. I love how their figures are less stylized and bombastic as some of the other "completing" lines, like the various companies doing SF figure or NECA with Universal Monsters. Their figures definitely trend towards the lower end with a smaller price tag, but they fit very well into any 1:12 collections, as opposed to say Storm and NECA, insisting on doing 7" scales. And the variety is definitely there, with a decent spread of accessories. I'm very excited for more stuff to come out from them.

I already pre-ordered the Wolfman yesterday, I'm always collecting Wolfman and werewolf stuff and that figure looks great. I have the Creature figure and it's very well done. I was on the fence about buying it until I watched Robo's review and then I was like, alright, I gotta get it. That Mummy figure looks pretty sweet, I might need that one too, but at that point, I might have to think about getting them all, oh no!!

i didn't realize that my BPRD display NEEDED a chester cheetah until jus this very moment. also: con-coverage is so hard to do, and you would think that y'all would be rusty for obv reasons, but every video that you've posted of this con [that i've seen] has been tremendous. big kudos to veebs and everyone else helping to produce these, and props to the toy peeps being interviewed over and over and making it sound exciting every time.

I am so happy to have new Robot Masters. They have been ignored for years. I already have 4 versions of Megaman, Jazwares, Sentinel 4 inch Neil , and D-arts. So I can skip him. Some side characters, like Dr. Light, Roll, Rotor, Rush, Dr. Cossack, Duo, would be nice. A small enemy figure would be a nice assessor. Also, don't forget an articulated Dr. Wily. Playset/Dioramas, and giant robots for Wily to pilot would be great if they can get to them.

I'm excited to see what else Jada can do with Street Fighter and Megaman. I hope they are successful and can expand to other Capcom IPs as well. Fortunately, they are releasing them in a good time frame because SF6 should becoming out about the same time so there will be hype for the brand. When the pro-orders go live, their marketing should try to reach out to the big streamers to get the word out about these lines.

I am most excited for that Megaman line! I've built Megaman collection with all the figures I could get my hands on but of course it's been very hard because nobody would do the Robot Masters. These look great and their accessories and sculpts they mentioned are the right choices. I hope wave 2 includes Elec-man and Guts-man! I hope they do other good guys like my boy Protoman! On the other hand the Chester Cheetah is brilliant work 👍 It got me thinking of mascots and videogames of that era, Fido Dido was one that was cool and very 90s too. And even though not a mascot per se, but Pink Panther! He was in videogames of that times but it's really timeless, and the anatomy is similar to Chester so I imagine they can knock it out of the park too.

I love having alternatives to Universal Monsters. I really didn't like Neca's take on the Wolfman (liked the Talbot head, but the Wolfman face looks like a guy with a heavy beard). And their Invisible man is OK (if you're doing first appearance IM, why leave out trench coat, scarf and goggles?) I personally like Jada's takes better.

I only care about street fighter figs. I have all the storm and sota figures. Combine the two and you will have the perfect sf line. Although the Jada toys stuff looks good enough, it could use a bump in sculp stylization. They feel artistically timid. Make it look like the og concept art, push the sculpt angles. That said,Jada toys got my purchase cause they started with fei long. Smart choice for their first line up. Get bold with aesthetics and I'm down for the whole line.
