Bhaiya it's not established in 1955 It was established in 1906 during "SWADESHI MOVEMENT" in bengal. Then it's name was "BENGAL TECHNOLOGY INSTITUTE(BTI)". In 1955 it's name was changed into "JADAVPUR UNIVERSITY". And it's not a state university. Not everything are same as u told in your video, bcoz i'm 3rd year Engg. student of this Jadavpur University. 1- IT Avg.= 15.17 LPA not 12.34 in 2018 and Power avg. = 6.66 LPA, ayse hi sare branches ke different h nd this is just bcoz ye data college todhe pahle provide kr deti h, but end tak companies aate h nd wo sare selected students ka data isme add nahi ho pata!! if u want, i'll show u. 2- only difference between main and salt lake (2nd) campus.., ki jitne v new branches hai like- IT, Instrumentation and Electronics, Power.. etc.. wo salt lake campus me baad me bane h in 1980s (aprox.) or main campus me sare old branches jo pahle se chale aa rhe.!! 3- we have many fest like- Sanskriti = aprox. 10 days long Cultural Fest, Srijan = Tech Fest, U Turn = for Freshers, CIIPPus = freshers party in Salt Lake campus,.. and many more... 4- Infrastructure aysa bhi kuch kharab nahi h ki aap toilet na ja sako, Actually it was established in 1906 by the name of Bengal Technical Institute uske baad 1955 me it was converted into a university. so, of course buildings to tode purane jamane wale honge hi. but fir v sare class rooms, lab,.. well maintained h.. or campus v pura green campus h. 5- Reservation (obc, sc/st) is only for W.B. students, agar koi other state ka, Bihar, UP, Delhi kahi ka banda yaha admission lee rha or wo obc ya sc/st hai fir v ushse yaha General rank se hi admission lena hoga..

But if your next opinion is to indicate about the domicile quota ,then most of the colleges of Delhi has it's domicile quota even all NITs and few IIT's has it's domicile quota format so it's not like JU is only who have this feature . Hey Aman, Just like JMI & JU, AMU is also amongst the top universities in Northern India.. You should check its ranking, fee and alumni base on Wikipedia which are some of the USPs for students. Its QS ranking for asia is 238 and QS world is 800-1000.

Some people say having a "90% HS quota" is bad. Well do you know JAC Delhi has an "85% HS quota" but nobody says anything against it, there a guy with a 30k rank can go in DTU/NSUT (IT branch) but others need less than a 10k rank, think about it is it good? Even, NITs have an HS quota not very much but still. The Point is that every State-run college has an HS quota, nothing to feel bad about. And there are many better colleges than JU like top IITs/few NITs/few IIITs/ Other state govt. institutions, you can always try them. Crying is not an option, there are many things to cry upon like 'caste reservations' , I can debate a long about it; but its worthless. I didn't mean to be rude here but tried to represent a fact that is true for many other colleges. Best of luck to everyone, till then cheers ❤❤

Getting into Jadavpur is not a piece of cakewalk. It's much harder than getting into any IITs. One have to be in top 100s in wbjee to get CSE and below 500 for rest of branches. For someone having reservation, then it's a cakewalk 😧😧

Yes ovio, if you don't get CSE in IITs which is improbable if not impossible. I'm talking about admission. Getting in IIts, one requires 200+ in advance, considering if you do 40% of paper because advance has 4 marks question. In wbjee one has to score above 130+ out of 200, where each question has 1 marks, couple of 2 marks ones and maths alone has 100 marks, that too in 2hrs. Then Phy and Chem another 1hour. And mind it Wbjee copies some jee advance questions

A big no. You will be eligible to get a seat for wbjee exams. I don't know why Amaan bhaiya said this but Jadavpur doesn't hold any defence quota like that or J and K ones. And for reservations, SC and STs of outside state aren't applicable here for JU admission(that is you won't get reservation advantage if you belong to outside state and you have to compete with generals). For getting admission here tum ko below 500 general rank Karna parega in wbjee, No matter tum Kaha rahte ho. And I myself live in West Bengal so I know about it.

It is one of the most underrated colleges of India... The only college that challenged neck to neck with JU in terms of Engineering (w.r.t.) was shibpur. It was for a loss WBJEE aspirants and a gain for JEE main candidates. Thanks for mentioning it.... We the bengalis know its true worth.

I attend classes and go back to my PG. 2 yrs back there were caa protests in the university and it was a big news. Stay away or go for a vacation when such things happen.

@@appyviral8753 For any branch other than IT, college fee is nearly 11,000. (TFW category will get further benefits) And around the main campus, the cost of living and foods are one of the cheapests. Not sure about SaltLake branch though yet. You can easily get good PG and foods within a cost of 5000/month. To be mentioned, Hostel fee is much low.

@@rk5609 Physics Wallah sir is enough for physics chemistry, and maths are of less than JEE Main level..but some questions of maths are from Jee advanced. Prepare for JEE main, WBJEE wouldn't be hard.

And trust me, once you become a Jadavian, you’ll never be the same again. 😅😅 And “placements” and “getting a job” is always slightly stressful. Even in the IITs.. but almost all my batchmates got either placed or went for masters or PhD.. Some of them are now IES too.. I left my job after a year .. now doing my masters in Germany .. everyone is happy and good after passing out.. Lastly, bro if you are going for CSE.. don’t worry at all.. CSE dept is awesome .. they are the first ones to land big jobs.

Great way to explain the reason why JU is slightly moving down Y-O-Y in national engineering rankings. Thus inspite of student unrest and unnecessary political negativity if JU is still breaking top 10-15 rank then that's awesome. Also fees have only increased by Rs 1000 from 2006 when I secured admission in B.E, Chemical till now, so in almost in 13 years there is a 10% hike on a base of 10k, may I need to say anything more about ROI

The biggest block u will receive in getting a good rank in wbjee is mathematics. Wbjee mathematics is completely on a different level.... They have a different paper for maths altogether, which is very hard. And overall getting a rank for CSE in ju is also very tough
