I really loved the visuals in the video. I felt like the video talks about a girl who was in a toxic relationship and always changed her actions to suit his needs and it made her sad. She continued acting for him till she realised she no longer wants to do it anymore. She decides to leave the relationship altogether and this leaves him confused because she could no longer be manipulated and thus is no longer in his control. I loved the vocals and the power behind the song. Loved it. Much love to Jade Bird for such a beautiful song.

To me this song is strongly about depression & apathy, not being able to feel any kind of "okayness" no matter how decent you may have it, and sometimes not feeling anything at all (which is worse than sadness or anger sometimes). I love the video, the constantly crashing into the cans, getting exhausted, repeatedly "failing", hurting yourself is what depression feels like and having ppl watch you, afraid to disappoint them. Then the spinning of the car in circles, losing your mind before finally deciding to say "fuck it" and take off knowing that what's on the other side has to be better than this. Brilliant video.

Great analysis. The video drives it home too (no pun intended). Constantly doing the same thing that you are told to do which only ends up with you getting hurt yet you carry on regardless. Then you make the decision to break the rules go out on your own and find your 'joy'.
