I think Turtle deserved S tier, I agree he wasn't the most heroic character for most of his book, but when the time came he wasn't afraid to sacrifice himself for the good of everyone else.

Turtle instantly became one of my faves when he showed kindness and understanding to Moon after she revealed her powers, showing her that there are dragons who will accept her the way she is. Then later he did the same with Peril, playing a big role in her learning to accept herself and turn against Scarlet. He's by no means an action hero but his compassion has arguably done just as much good as the more proactive protagonists.

3:33 I think Pearl is overall pretty good at heart but was in a really very tough predicament. She had to become queen at a very young age completely out of nowhere due to being the only surviving heir in the Albatross massacre. She had to make herself regal really quickly in order to keep the kingdom intact which is a really heavy burden to carry. And then she has the matter of everyone fearing animus dragons to take care of. Making Fathom swear an oath and keeping him isolated from others really was the only way to calm down the kingdom other than simply killing Fathom herself. And it’s hard to choose against the cheers of her own subjects to get Indigo, the known famous animus slayer, to not go on the trip with Fathom. The only thing I think Pearl went too far on was telling Fathom and Indigo that the other doesn’t wanna see them anymore. And even so, that was very understandable too. Pearl had a huge mess to clean up and considering her circumstances, she did a really good job.

It should be noted that Pearl was the only Seawing queen in their history to have died of old age instead of in a challenge. That means she must've been an exceptional and beloved ruler. I don't think it's right to judge someone entirely for how they acted as a teenager. Who isn't kind of a jerk at that age?

I’m trying to reread the third arc but can’t help but fall asleep between each line of dialogue in the 11th-12th book. Still wish the main threat wasn’t swapped with a scavenger.

Woo hoo! I’m happy to see that Moonwatcher got such a great score! I didn’t expect her to be rated this high but I definitely think she’s earned it! She’s not just a big part in the plot due to her powers. She’s also incredibly empathetic and wise after the events of Moon Rising and is able to touch the hearts of so many dragons around her to try to be better versions of themselves and make the right choices. Even all the way back at the beginning, she never lets her fears or doubts stop her from doing what she knows was right. There are so many examples of her words of wisdom and encouragement giving others the push they need: She lets Winter know that he’s more than just a prideful IceWing who turns his head away from other tribes, which helps push him into siding against his sister when she’s in the wrong. She tells Sunny that she has what it takes to unite Pyrrhia into a place of peace, which chases away her doubts regarding her idea of Jade Academy. She encourages Riptide to give things another shot with Tsunami when he’s having trouble deciding if she wants to see him again. She tells Peril that she can decide her own future, despite what the prophecy says about “beware the talons of fire”, which leads Peril into wanting to do the right thing more. She comforts Turtle about being a good brother for caring so much about his little sister, which ultimately guilts him more into risking his own safety to help Anemone later on. Plus, Moon’s father-daughter dynamic with Darkstalker was so captivating, between Darkstalker trying to make Moon genuinely trust and like him without brainwashing her while he’s secretly taking revenge on entire tribes and ruling the rest, and Moon trying to give Darkstalker a fair chance to avoid being unfairly hated like she was at first.

6:45 I think Hailstorm went through the Diamond Trial as a sort of "I still have Pyrite in my head, so maybe this way I can be free" sort of deal when he wanted Winter to strike him down so Winter could go out without shame. Or to prevent his family from being plunged further in the rankings. Personally I saw him as still being selfless and trying to help Winter and his family in this regard. Of course then Winter had to be a genius and think that if he went out, nobody would know. And he got to be free to live his life with Scavengers. Hailstorm could've kept to the rules of the trial and struck him down as most Icewings probably would've done, but he risked his own ranking so that Winter could survive. If Winter was ever found, the whole Kingdom would know and Hailstorm would probably have gone to the bottom for ruining the sanctity of the trial. His methods weren't perfect, but he never seemed the brightest. He did have his friends and family close to heart, though, and I love that about him personally.

Icicle is honestly interesting when it comes to how her character can be viewed, especially when it comes to how she views and interacts with her brother Winter. On the surface, Icicle has shown a resentment towards Winter for Hailstorm being captured as well as making attempts to belittle him by calling him weak/worthless. The latter of which becomes interesting when it comes to when Winter questions Icicle about why she didn't tell him about Hailstorm and her telling how he is worthless and didn't want waste time arguing with his sensitive more sensibilities; Something that Moonwatcher, no doubt reading Icicle's mind, rebuttals by saying quote: "She means she didn't want to be talked out of it. She knew you'd try, and maybe even succeed, because you're not worthless; You're smart and brave and capable of caring about other dragons". Dialogue that, when taken context for Icicle's actions, becomes pretty important to her character. Giving an idea of while she cares about Winter deep down, she does appear to make attempts to emotionally distance herself from her brother with the resentment she has for him; Something that becomes physically apparent when Icicle backs down from attacking Starflight when Winter attacks her, despite her being capable of taking him down to get to Starflight, as well as when Icicle's attempts to insult and shy away from Winter 's attempts to reach out her at the Old Nightwing island. Things get more interesting when taking into consideration of Icicle's latter thoughts considering Winter as smart and brave and capable of caring about other dragons, giving the possibility that Icicle may have seen Winter in some way as a dragon better than herself; Be it from dealing with Scarlet or living under the pressure of their parents, especially her mother Tundra looking to use her daughter to control the throne; Leaving Icicle to live her life with the thought of one day killing her Aunt Glacier. Getting back to Icicle one last time, if she did see Winter as a dragon better than herself that it would be kind of ironic considering Winter saw himself as not good enough to be an Icewing and saw Icicle as the perfect Icewing.

YESSSS!!! Whiteout supremacy!!!! I'm so happy she got recognized and given the rating she desrves. Whiteout is such an interesting character with how she sees things so differently. Other dragons tend to dismiss her as just being weird and talking nonsense, but if they actually took the time to really listen to her they would see that she is trying to tell us something, just in her own way. Behind that strangness, she's very wise and often knows something about others that they havent even realized yet. Also I'm just a sucker for neurospicy characters 😉

I think this is the first tier list on your channel that I largely agree with lol (I haven't read the Winglets though, so I can't really form a solid opinion on characters like Snowfox) I'd probably nudge Ruby down (there's something about the way that her character is written that just irks me a little, not sure what it is) and maybe Pearl up (she doesn't do much, but she has a tragic, interesting story) a tier, but that's pretty much it. I do disagree that Vulture lived up to the hype, though. It's been a while since I've read _Darkness of Dragons_, so maybe I just don't remember everything he did? But, then again, if he did cooler things, maybe I would remember him more 🤷‍♀️ I would've liked to see hints of his influence earlier on in the series. Or see him do anything to live up to his sick design (seriously, why does this grandpa have so much drip🧍‍♀️)

It's heartbreaking to see Darkstalker lose his memories and abilities and be turned into Peacemaker. It feels like it's not really the same dragon anymore, and that all the potential and complexity that made Darkstalker such an interesting character is lost. It would have been nice to see a redemption arc for Darkstalker that allowed him to realize his mistakes and make amends, rather than just erasing his entire character and replacing him with Peacemaker also it’s not entirely his fault that he turned evil because Arctic's immediate public reveal of Darkstalker's animus magic as a key moment that set everything in motion. It makes sense that this would lead Darkstalker to feel betrayed or exposed, pushing him into the palace and eventually encountering both Fathom and Indigo. The interaction with Indigo and her attempt to kill him was certainly pivotal in shaping his darker thoughts and reactions. I also see the growing hatred for the IceWings, particularly his father, Arctic, as a major turning point. Arctic's treatment of him, coupled with the message from Queen Diamond, only intensified that resentment, which eventually led to the tragic moment when Darkstalker killed his father. This moment really shows the complexity of his character-his actions were driven by deep emotional wounds and anger, but also by his need for control and power. I emphasize that many of his actions were influenced by other characters, like Clearsight's betrayal after he killed Arctic and how Indigo's actions forced him to protect himself by making his scales invulnerable. The reason some horrible characters got higher rankings than expected is, although they are terrible people, they are still interesting characters. Take Chameleon for example. His existence alone reveals a darker aspect of Rainwing culture; ostracising those that are deemed too different. His actions create considerable obstacles for the heroes and his ability to assume multiple personas allowed many twists in the plot. He's a villain I would like to see make a return if any more stories are written.

I haven’t finished the vid yet, but I did have a thought… I’m pretty sure we all loved Qibli when he first showed up in Moon Rising because he was annoying Winter 😂😂 Just finished the video, I hope Qibli stays at the top, but I do like the character who beat him just slightly last time so I’m not saying I’ll be sad lol. Just saying Qibli is better haha. Loving the Tierlist so far, although Turtle’s rating was honestly really shocking! He is an amazing character tho!

Qibli is my all-time favorite character in arc 2!!!! I love that he loves moon but thinks that he's not good enough! I wish I was a dragon to tell him that he will forever and always be more than good enough for any dragon! Moonbli is my favorite couple. They're just so cute together!
