Now to see HMV, Rough Trade and Banquet record stores still around. Love 💘😻 that vinyl is back. Used to be like Jaden loved looking through records when I was young.

Cool to see Reckless Records in London, because it is the mother store for the three Reckless Records shops here in Chicago. It's probably my most frequented record store in Chicago.

The Record & Tape Exchange further along Berwick Street used to be great - sadly no longer there. Spent many hours in the 50p basement I found any amounts of bargains down there (sold a record for £150 that I got from there for 50p). Don’t get down to London now as i’m from the north east of England and the local papers used to do cheap train ticket offers £12 return from Durham to Kings Cross. They don’t do that any more sadly :-(

Love a good bargain but £150 from 50p is a brilliant find! 👍😀

Nice vid Jaden; all those stores have taken plenty of my hard-earned ££s over the years! If you're in Portobello Rd near Rough Trade West, you owe it to yourself to keep heading north to the Saturday market record stalls just after the railway bridge and a few yards further up, the legendary Honest John's.

I am viewing from New Zealand. I'm in my sixties, and i have a large collection of music. I would love to visit London and hang out in these record stores. When I was your age I had an after school job in a supermarket. I liked to buy records and cassettes with my money from my job. Music was different then and I liked British Glam Rock music. Such as the Sweet T- Rex, Gary Glitter, etc. If you haven't heard of any of these groups and singers then ask your Grandparents. From Carl.

Hi Carl, Blockbuster, Ride a White Swan.....great music of the time - still hear those played in some of the places we visited and Our Price was the place to get those 7" on day of released and each cassette had to have a pencil nearby - oh yes! Really lucky Jaden got into his music and collects vinyl and now collected cassettes as well! Thanks so much for watching, Steve
@carltwidle90462 жыл бұрын
@@LondonVisited Thank you for your nice reply. Yes I like both those songs. Especially T-Rex Ride a White Swan from 1970. Suzi Quatro was another Glam Rocker I like. She still performs and records and she's in her seventies. Amazing lady. I had long hair back then, and wore flared denims. I'm in my sixties now, and I have not much hair and it's Grey in color.
