It's crazy to me that I've been in school my entire life, and now I'm just being thrown into the real world. I don't wanna sound like a bitch, but it's just crazy to me how nobody prepares you for anything. I just graduated and probably remember only 3% of the things that I learned in high school maybe even less. Just feel a little lost that's all

Make sure you research about graduation depression, most people don't know that. They often thought that they will feel excited or felt unprepared. But they end up feeling depressed right after they graduate. Idk why school don't teach this important part. My older sister always positive and active but after she graduated, she got depressed for year, no kidding. I can't fully give advice on this one because I grew up hating school and have depression from start. But aside that, my sister advice is do what you always do to help you bring yourself ahead. So by all means, do your hobby that you always like to do in school and home. After graduation, keep doing your hobby to help yourself to search other new thing (example: college, driver license, job, etc)

Keep your current or old hobby in active even after you graduate, as you do that, write down what you want to do after graduation (Example: College, job, move into new house Or small thing: learn new hobby, get a pet, buy plant Important note: *research for graduation depression so you know how to deal with it and prepare early, idk why school don't teach this one. *Carry anything with you that help relieve your stress/anxiety at all time. Make sure it fit in your pocket or purse (Stress ball, figet finger, music, etc) *There no need to try to make everyone happy (if u this kind of person) Take care of your health over job and other. It very important that many people regret not taking care of themselves. Your health is value. Take care and good luck Edit: almost forgot Since you still in school or online, it best to learn from experience for job. Most of the job require experience and graduation diploma. You can look in online or check in school for joining work community. It important to communicate with one another. But it stressful for you, don't worry about it now. Health first, when you feel confident to do it, go ahead. Confident is a key: -speak or sign loud and clear -ask question or research if you have questions. It doesn't matter age, if they know the answer, there no need to be ashamed/shy. Everyone have questions in their head even teacher. -be yourself, everyone always criticism toward each other. They never will be satisfied. So keep your time value.

For the new high school grads. First off, congratulations. Second off, be prepared because you are about to find out how easy life was then, regardless of where you go in life. That being said, look forward to the adventure, because it does get better. I've been out of high school for 5 years now, and I still have not TOUCHED college. And that's okay, cuz I had NO idea what I wanted to do with my life. Don't be afraid to take time for yourself, and to find a career you'll know you'll be happy in. And trust me, chase the dream, not the money (unless money is your dream of course lol). Go at your own pace, while you can.

Yeah I feel you. I wished I would’ve gain more memories and opportunities in highschool. All I did was I just study hard, talked to friends I’m close with, I was able to get know almost all my grads. But unfortunately the majority of my grads were being so toxic to me and caused drama and gave me alot of hate, I felt pressured of like I should socialize to everyone cuz I see like everyone having a good time in classes And I didn’t want to be the type of person To be anti social and be a loner. After I graduated in 2020, I didn’t look back and when I transitioned to college life I was able to explore more out in the outside world.

i agree, especially that last point. Im just going into senior year but I've just been recently hardcore reflecting on the people I've been surrounding myself with. it's true that you become (or at least are heavily influenced) by the top 2-5 people you surround yourself with, and I feel like my friendships in high school never fulfilled me, and in the end, I just ended almost all of them. Really, it just came down to the fac that all of them were just like everyone else: they just wanted to look like they had friends so they would fit in. It wasn't at all about talking about meaningful shit or whatever, it was just about looking like you were having fun but below the surface, they were insecure asf. anyway, I'm dropping them now. It's better to have no friends, or either to put yourself out there more and find people that you truly click with. not those people like i just mentioned

As someone who graduated over a decade ago, I can say that the vast majority of friends that you have in high school will disappear (if not all) unless you both put in the effort to catch up every now and then. I’m sure there may be a couple of people who may maintain friendships but people move to different colleges and locations, people change, make new friends, find a job or even find someone to be in a relationship with (and maybe even marry and possibly have children). So even the people that you try to keep in your life will get busier and busier as the years go by. So as much as you may feel that it would suck for you to leave high school in the past, I would suggest embracing the shift and change as well as embrace meeting new people and being exposed to new situations and experiences. Think of it as new adventures beyond high school with new (and better) opportunities. And a few comments have touched on this but it’s ok if you don’t know exactly what you want to do for a career. You have years to figure this out. By working for a business, company or organisation; you’ll eventually get a feel for where your passions lie and then you can study in that field and develop qualifications and knowledge. Also the real world has greater responsibility but there is also greater freedom to an extent. You drive your own direction!

Class of 2009 here. I'm assuming I'm the only here in the comment section as a old person among the young people telling their stories or preparing for the real world. When i graudated, it was a struggle. Life was rough for me. Working from one job to the next, one check away from being homeless. Well I did became homeless. The friends I grew up with and graduated with are gone. One day we were there chillen after school, fast forward to the end of our senior year, we knew it was the end that we departed our own ways. Life goes on, I did found happiness to cope with. The real world is a struggle.

Who misses high school and who doesn't? I personally will not miss high school due to the nonsense drama that occured such as fights, students not listening, some teachers not caring and students acting like it's game time when time to be serious. All of the students in high school should have been above the stuff where they misbehave and teachers telling them no. I really prefer to not hear about people's futures mostly. What are your opinions towards this?

i’m almost 19 and i had a HELL of a rough childhood in my entire time at school. I’m a very shy person and was bullied because of it. The other thing that i am mad about is that school doesn’t really teach you how to cope in the real world. You are just a seen as a “number” after you graduate high school. The transition from a high schooler to a young adult is more stressful than you would expect. Financial, independence, moving out, and the list goes on

I haven’t really enjoyed school much since freshman year and I’ve wasted so much time and had poor mental health and I feel like I didn’t fully appreciate my years before adulthood. I'm going to graduate this year, as well; June 17, 2022. Draw from your life experience to find a career you would want to dabble in. Once you find a career you can choose these starting paths; College, Work, Apprenticeship, Military, etc. (If you choose college, make sure you choose the RIGHT classes to fit your future. And also, most importantly, make sure you're in a decent spot when it comes to college debt. If you have nobody to assist you with it... then college will be hard.) Once you choose one of these paths you can narrow it down further into jobs you'd wish to have. Finding a good job that satisfies you will make your young adult life much easier. I can be an example; I wish to begin my career in the Construction Industry but I wish to increase my artistic skills and mind by doing Graphic Design in college. Increasing my artistic skills will make me more prepared for building plans. So college is the path I wish to take.

I graduated from high school 2 years ago. Class of 2020! The things I really miss about high school are seeing my friends on a daily basis, seeing my best teachers, having fun during class, doing some of the extracurricular activites, and just constantly making memories no matter how I did it. I honestly miss high school more than I would like to because the coronavirus pandemic hit in the middle of my senior year before we were supposed to go on our senior trip to Disney World. Because of the pandemic ruining my senior year, it made me feel more appreciative of my teachers who left the biggest impact on me during my 4 years in high school. Great teachers can make a huge difference in a student's life. I did get an in-person graduation ceremony a few months later after our online one. However, the things I do not miss about my high school specifically is waking up at 6:00 AM to get ready for school, bullying, racism, students constantly vaping, students who were out of control, and the staff not enforcing rules, thus letting bad students getting away with whatever they want.

The fact that I was a very outgoing person who was involved in pretty much everything, not only in my school, but in my community as well! I will definitely miss my teachers and coaches, I have learned a lot from them! I believe that a lot of people are going to miss my jovial personality that once walked the halls of SAHS. Hello! I’m graduating in 4 months and have been confined with stress revolving what to do “after”. I have a wide range of interest revolving writing, marketing, business, filming etc therefore it makes it difficult to choose or even elaborate on who I want to be in 10 years time. Another factor is that I’m currently in the prairies and want to move to Toronto which would be a drastic change and even though its my dream place, I’d be leaving my family and struggle as an introverted person. Realistically, as someone who is optimistic, I am very hopeful and grateful of future opportunities, but to those in my position, I just want you to know that you’re not alone and this is one of the most confusing milestones in our life being forced into a state of unknown, however we will make it together and I wish everyone the best in doing so. ❤️

High school changes everyone and everything It's sad to see the people you used to be so close with and talk with every single day in those 3 years in middle school, spent every lunch eating with each other, talking, and doing stupid stuff only to just become complete strangers in high school. Same with some people who you used to talk to and consider a friend treat you like you're some stranger or you don't exist. After something I went through 2 months before school started again, I refuse to make friends and talk and close to anyone. I didn't want to go through the same pains I went through again and again It didn't help I had a close 'friend' who was a fake friend during those 3 years in middle school and then think the two new 'friends' I made after were the ones I thought where our friendship will last forever. Betrayal hurts. I was bullied all 5 years in elementary and in preschool and kindergarten. Then also a bit in middle school. I'm a sophomore right now in highschool, this would technically be my "first" year in it because of Covid. So the making friends part is so out of question lmao It makes it a bit harder since I look very approachable for some reason and there are some people from my elementary. I hate that I'm a really nice person and care for others feelings. I'm scared of when I graduate and then get thrown into life not knowing what to do. I really do agree that school should teach us about life and how to get a job and stuff like that. I don't understand how the other stuff is gonna help us. I literally forget what we've learned from the last Unit when we go into the next one. Oof I rambled sorry everybody

I'm sorry if this seems a bit dramatic, I'm sort of ranting about this so I just want to let this out. I'm currently in 1st year college, doing 1st semester and I feel so depressed about growing up. I'm going to turn 19 in 2 weeks and I feel so bad bc now I'm looking down on people who wear uniforms and feel so old. When I was graduating high school in 2020 (during covid) I wanted to leave so badly bc of how depressed I was and how alone I was all the time in these past 4 years. I've always seen ppl older than me graduating and I never had to worry about the real world. I just hate myself so much that I never had a special life and now I'm already worried about turning 30 or 40 or hitting middle age. It scares me that one-day gen z will become older and the generations younger than me will take over. Even when I was in high school, I felt miserable when I would see high school anime shows bc of how I'm not a kid anymore and how their life seems more interesting than mine. Now it's even worse, bc I graduated last year (and it didn't feel like much bc I was in zoom for classes most of the year). I'll never be able to look at animes and think, I relate to them or think as a child that I can't wait to grow up and be like them. I've been planning to just die before I reach 30 bc I hate the thought of seeing newer generations becoming teens or young adults while my life just crumbles away (I'm sorry if that seems selfish). I just want to be young forever. :(

@@Lily-ow5wm nope. 😅 After thinking about this I've always kinda known what I would be doing in the future. But generally I just go with the flow but with always heading for where I wanted. My main goal is to just to move out by the time I'm 21 so I'm no longer a nuisance to my parents. After moving out I think will just live a quiet boring life. But that's kinda all I want tbh. Thanks for asking btw.

Just recently graduated high school last weekend. I was the Class of 2021. Damm what he said in the video. It is all true. My friends I usually talk to or say hi too. They're all gone and probably are going to college or do work. And the free time he said. That is also true. I need to find something or try out something that might be my future passion in life. See ya later for this video relates a lot.

Someone once told me this, once you graduate school all your friends are gone. After I graduated school all of my friends that used to hangout with me are gone and everyone else that I've talked to at school are gone. When that person told me that he was right about that and I never thought he was joking either. I tried to stay in contact with a lot of people from school but I couldn't because they're not going to stay in contact with me I wish I can stay in contact with a lot of people from school but sadly I can't. I'm probably not going to see those people from school anymore I might run into some of them but I'll never stay in contact with them but it's okay we all move on with our lives and we make new friends in life.

I feel as long as you don’t peak in high school you’ll do fine. Yes life get considerably stressful but compared to those who peaked it’s better. You’ll soon realize that you loose contact with your friends even the close one. I only talk/hang out with two and that’s like 3 times a year. Also you don’t have to go to college for a career, there is other options like vo-tech schools. It’s also possible to go to college without student loans, just have to manage money and it will take you a few more years to finish

For any current high school students, my advice to you is to savor every moment and make memories that will last a lifetime. Have fun in high school while you can no matter how you do it, because once you leave your high school's graduation ceremony dressed in your cap and gown, you will miss the crap out of it whether you think so or not. Always think about the fun memories you have created.

Freshman year for me was good. It was new and exciting and I got to meet new friends but I can’t say the same about sophomore year since I was bullied in sophomore year and some of these same friends I was cool with became mean. Junior year has been mostly just more chill while it’s not as exciting as freshman year, the people I have met in high school haven’t been making fun of me as much as sophomore year.

I'm graduating this year and can't wait to get out of high school. I never really had the whole "high school experience" everyone else seemed to have had. I haven't had a girlfriend in high school and I never hung out with friends or went to parties just due to the lack of time I have while also working a part time job. I think it'll eventually pay off since I saved up most of the money I've made from the job though.

Nothing in school really matters when it comes to the real world, learned that the hard way, lol. In grade 12 still, next year will be my 3rd and hopefully... last redo. I don't even know what I'm going to do after I graduate. I'll be 21 next year and I just feel like my life isn't really going in the direction I imagined it would when I was younger.

I’m still in high school currently but I just finished my first semester of my senior year and I swear for me everything sucked from the beginning of sophomore year and on starting with the pandemic, had beef with friends my sophomore year and never made too many more friends but basically everything they teach you is bs and people in high school can be one of the most toxic things ever, also 2022 is the most ghetto, weird, annoying ass class I’ve ever been around
