The Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB) has announced Jadung, as the next tourist hotspot in Uttarakhand. It’s an old border village in Uttarkashi, and is also the first village from the Tibet Border.
With this, Jadung becomes the first of the five villages that will be rehabilitated, and will also be created into a sustainable tourism destination for trekking, astro tourism, nature camps, hiking, and more. As per the reports, most of Jadung’s inhabitants were displaced during the Indo-China War.
At a height of roughly 3800 metres, Jadung offers a magnificent view and is situated approx. 50 km from Harsil. Jadung is the first village at the Indo-Tibetan border and is a community that has been long hidden in the beauty and remained untouched. Now, close your eyes and imagine, the Himalayas, snow-covered mountains, and forests, you have never seen from this angle.

Nelang ,Naga and Jadunga are 3 hidden valley of Uttarakhand which fall in the Harshil Sub division.Nelang valley was the old trade route between India and Tibet.The wooden bridge through which supplies were transported still exists when last visited.Around 4-5 Km ahead of Nelang there is a famous temple of Shiv and Parvati.I was told by the locals residing there that who had gone ahead simply went missing.I could not collaborate with local administration. When I visited, a permit was mandatory, I don't know if the rules still exist From New Delhi.///.

It is great you are opening up these untouched and still beautiful parts of the Himalayas but I worry what damage noisy and careless human beings will do to the plants, wildlife, and nature. I hope you will guide people - in every post you make - to be quiet, not throw garbage around but to keep it and take it back to the town/city they came from, walk carefully and consciously on these sacred grounds where saints must have done their sadhana. There spirits must still be around and you don't want to disturb them.
