Hi Jady, Thank you so much for all the material and videos you have created. I purchased almost all of the material you have created since my daughter was 1.5 years old and now she is 3.5 years old. She completed her first set of BOBs books and can read fluently. This is all because of your amazing curriculum which I followed from the beginning. Thank you again and I am truly blessed for all the knowledge that you share. God bless.

Jady I was completely lost when I became a homeschool mom. I started watching your videos and was skeptical about how fast it would work. At the same time I didn't trust myself to do a good job to teach my son who is 5, I even underestimated him...but let me tell you consistency and patience pays off! I had to stop several times for him to refocus. We started late October 2021 and now April 2022 he's able to read the bob books!!! We are still following the alpha-phonics book and he's doing GREAT!!!! Thank you so much! Parents out there be patient with your kids, just be consistent and they will surprise you. Give them space if they are not ready and come back and try it again. DON't give up!!!

@@auny89 please don't get mad . This method is not the only method to teach a child to read . As a teacher and parent I taught my daughters to read from birth. I taught them using the whole word method and they just elicited the rules. I also used simple picture books with 1 word per page and moved up to 1 sentence per page. As such they read books from early.They recognized whole words from advertisements on Television, billboards and Newspapers. "The teaching of reading " by Donald Moyle was an excellent book that explained all the methods that can be used. I always felt that since we speak in sentences to our children then we should teach them exactly how they speak and how they hear the language.

I did this with my son. It gave him a head start. He went to school already reading and counting and by high school he almost scored a perfect score on the ACT. They labeled him as gifted, but I attribute his ability to pick up so quickly is reading so early. ❤

What you outlined here in your video is the exact method of the book "Phonics pathways" by Dolores Hiskes. I started this book when my son was 3 yrs and 1 month old. He is now 4 yrs and 2 months old and reading at a 5th grade level. Phonics works and I can attest to it. Kudos to you for using this tried and true method and not the garbage the public schools are using now.

I am so shocked how doing letter sounds on flash cards really works. My 3 yr old is delayed with speech. I have been working with the flashcards for 2 months straight, each morning after breakfast. And he knows all letters and sounds by sight. His confidence is growing, his speech is improving. Its absolutely stress relieving, to see him learning and really understanding. I have bought 3 books of your books thus far. I just added this book to my Amazon cart. Thank you so much Ms. Jady.

Hi Jen, my daughter is 3 now. I know it’s never too late to start learning how to read but did feel you like your daughter was behind when she started at 3 instead of starting at 1 like Jady’s son did?
@AG-hx6qn
@AG-hx6qn 2 жыл бұрын
I know I feel pressured like my daughter is behind due to other 1 and 2 year olds reading, pouring their own drinks, and getting dressed (using the toilet, even), but I know that's not the point behind most of the videos these mothers make. I think we just put so much pressure on ourselves and others. Wherever you are at with your child/ren, I'm sure you're doing awesome wherever you're at.
@Josemophone
@Josemophone 2 жыл бұрын
Oh it’s never too late to start, and there couldn’t be any disadvantage for starting at 3! ❤️ Almost all kids will read when they’re ready, whether you start teaching them at 1, 3, or 6 years old. It’s definitely not a race, and there’s no rush. The most important thing is fostering a love of literacy and reading, and learning in general. Don’t compare your little one to where someone else’s child is at, or what age they started reading, their learning journey is their own. By the time children are in high school, it doesn’t matter if they started reading at 3 or 6, if they were pouring their own drinks or getting themselves dressed by 18 months. It makes no difference by the time they’re teenagers, let alone adults. We love our academics in our family, our boys were reading by 4, and our three year old started reading when she was 2.5 years old (she’s now three years old), but we focus just as much on a growth mindset, persistence and kindness.

Hint for anyone with dyslexic kiddos I know everyone is different, but my experience is they did better with each blend and word on individual colored flash cards instead of several on black and white paper More than one on a page was distracting and the color seemed to help Love your system and it’s so helpful! Just a little tip for any child still struggling Once they got those 3 letter CVC words down we moved to sentences on a page…but the beginning was easier with flash cards I do love the idea of a binder Jady, brilliant for many many kids!

I'm in Sénégal West Africa and I've volunteered to teach my neighbor's 14 year-old son to at least speak, read and write in English. He's never been to school because he has no teeth and he says that the children tease him. I'm not educated to be a teacher but I figure I should be able to help him but I feel quite clueless. It looks like you'll be a huge resource for me. Will buy the books tomorrow. Thanks so much for sharing your gift.

I was taught this way as a three year old in 1956. When I was training to be a teacher, I did a six week teaching practice on a US airbase, here in the UK. I couldn't believe how hard the system used in kindergarten was there! The kids were taught letter names, not phonetically. They also wrote everything in capital letters because, the class teacher told me, they are easier to form. That meant they had to relearn both sounds and letter formation later in the school year. and several children were totally confused and struggling. I'm surprised to hear that that still goes on in US schools. My grandson is in school. Now nearly six, he's close to the end of his second year and reads, writes and spells easily in two languages taught there, each with different sounds to letters. If he wasn't doing so well and enjoying school, we would home school. As a teacher, I encourage parents living in areas where the schools do not suit their children or live up to their own expectations to do so. Schools are necessary for those who can't, or don't wish to teach at home but parents are, after all, the primary teacher on so many yhings. Great to see this in action. Your kids clearly love it😊.

This is wonderful advice! My daughter recently turned 5 years old it took a while for blending to click. We finally got there, but it probably would have been easier with your method. I bought elemental phonics level 1 for when my son is ready to read. Btw i taught letter sounds with dollar tree flash cards, and the letter sounds video you did 7 years ago! I did a voice over because kids tend to like their mom's voice more but it was definitely effective. She had letter sounds mastered in 8 weeks! Thanks again. You are such an immense help to families.❤

This is wonderful and this is exactly what you should do. As a teacher that teaches reading to special needs children I have learned that you need to clip the b, d, g sounds by not adding uh at the end. That’s called a schwa sound.

My daughter started to learn to read when she was in daycare, her teacher teaches reading in a similar method as this one ☝️ so when I found Jady A it was easy for me to keep teaching my daughter to read using Jady’s A method. My daughter is now 8 years old. I will be buying the book to teach my other child to read as it will be easier to have everything together

Jody you have done it again! I have taught my older two children how to read with your method and will be purchasing the notebook on Amazon for my three year old. We have already started your flashcards matter with him… such as simple and joyful way to teach your kids how to read. 💐 thank you!!!

Hi, I am from Indonesia.. And I searched on youtube about what to teach to your 3 YO .. Anddd your video came out! I tried this method to my 3,5 YO! Guess what! Without me expecting him to repeat after me, suprise to me, one day when I pulled out the FlashCard, hejust started to repeat after me without me asked him to do it! Now after 1month of this learning process.. He already say all the alphabets ❤
