Jady! I have a 5yr. Old Daughter and a 4yr. Old Son. You changed my life in so many ways! My children are very intelligent because I taught them the simple early learning method you shared with the world at a time when I was lost and didn’t know how to start teaching my child what and I am forever grateful. You are an amazing woman Jady! When you have such a busy day, I totally agree that it is crucial that we get up before the children. I do have a few questions though: What time do your kids go to sleep? Do you spend enough quality time with your husband before you go to sleep? When do you prepare all your homeschool material and activities?

I do this as much as I can. My 2 yr old has been waking up at 5am and so I get no time for myself. But whenever I get the chance I will get up and do all these you suggested and it does make a huge difference. I am better mentally and more energetic and ready to conquer the day with the kiddos.

Winter time though, I've been struggling to get up earlier that 6:30. I definitely feel more frazzled with less time to myself. When I was pregnant with my 1st, I started getting up at 3:30am (when my husband got up for work) and would either relax or most often craft for the etsy business I used to have. I found it very easy and didn't get very tired. My 1st is now 4 years old and my 2nd just turned 1. My husband and I get up at 4am and I almost always go back to bed at 5am. Every single time I do stay up, I am exhausted and debilitated for the rest of that day and often also the next... Sometimes I will even start to catch a cold, that goes away after a few days of getting enough rest and doing hardly anything during the day. :( It makes me so sad because I can remember how amazing it was to fill my bucket for the rest of the day, but I can't seem to manage to do it anymore! I understand that I probably need to do it consistently for over a week for it to get easier, but I don't know how to go about it when it wrecks me on the first day and I have to recuperate for days to feel normal again. With my husbands work schedule (early mornings and/or late nights), I can't go to bed early most nights of the week. 10:30-11:00pm is typical so getting up at 4am leaves me with only 5 hours of sleep - that is if I can fall asleep right away AND not get woken up by my baby. My husband also just accepted more work so I can't let myself get too tired thinking I can just ask him for help with the children - like he was able to do before. I often wake up to chaos and I'll be in a sour mood for hours or even the rest of the day. I don't want to live like this anymore, but I don't know how to change. Thank God I believe in Jesus so I can at least pray about it! I don't know how non-believers manage, just wondering and not having the comfort of praying to our creator. I've only been a true Christian for a few years and I already forget what its like to not have Jesus in my heart. Anyway, God bless you and your family Jady. I pray that you all are kept safe and healthy - and that you all be given sound minds and good mental health too. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen. ♥

@@nicholetteburris3925 I might have to settle with that! I also just implemented a new rule today that my girls play in the living room until I am done reading one or two chapters of the bible (around 15 minutes) before my 4 year old is allowed to ask me for anything. I told her if she interrupts my bible time (which has been a serious problem lately) she will have to go into her bedroom until I am done. She played for a few minutes then started crying at me about her baby sister not sharing a toy so she went to her bedroom - I follow through haha. Then after that I got her breakfast while she watched Bible Adventure on KZbin. I used to try to read the bible while she was watching her bible show, but it was honestly so distracting for me. I was reading like 3 times as slow and my daughter would interrupt like every 5 minutes to tell me about what was going on in the show (as if we haven't already seen each episode 5+ times each lol). Anyway, this seemed to work much better! I think it's a trend I'll keep - at the very least I'll get to read the bible before anything. The rest can wait until later I suppose. My husband is home in the middle of everyday (as well as the morning or evening depending on the day of the week) so he can always watch the girls if I ever need some mommy time while they play or are in quiet time. :)

I was never a morning person and now I can’t even sleep in😂 God cares about what we care about and God will listen and grant you your request , now I am praying about how I can get to sleep early because that is an issue for me
@@KimmieNoel I am a sahm breastfeeding homeschooling mom to six kids too! I’ve taken your homemaker course, and after this video, I still have the questions when do you schedule time to work on your business and quality spouse time if you go to bed early? I’ve tried going to bed early because I’m exhausted at the end of the day, but I feel I need to spend time with my husband when he comes home from work. When I wake up early to take care of myself and work on the business, I feel like I need a nap before homeschooling, but I don't because I have to start my mommy duties. I hope you read my comment. Thanks, Jady!
@elizabethstephens78652 жыл бұрын
I am in the a similar boat. I can't go to bed early if I want to spend time with my husband. As much as I want to go to bed early and get up early, I need that extra time with him before bed. Depending on the day of the week, we get up at 4am (I go back to bed at 5am) and/or he works until around 9pm - he works 1 or 2 shifts per day 6 days a week. On the days he works 2 shifts, he is home from around 10am-3:30pm so that is quite nice. I used to get up and stay up at 3:30am (and somehow not get very tired despite being pregnant) so I am having a hard time accepting that I might not be able to have my special mommy mornings for a while - possibly years. I will have to settle with taking moments as they come throughout the day when my husband is home to watch the girls. It can certainly be discouraging to compare our lives with others since most people and their spouses have different schedules and children require different levels of attention and whatnot. We need to remember to do what is best for us, not exactly what we see others do which can look so appealing.

But increasing nutrition and have a plan ready the night before has helped me in the beginning stages of becoming a morning person. I definitely want to do this challenge, though I’ve never been an early morning riser. It blew me away though, when you said you go to bed at NINE pm - HOW do you do that Jady?! I would LOVE to be able to go to bed at that time. But it seems impossible to do. It would probably be easier if I was getting up as early as 5, now that I think about it.... I’m a mother of 6 (ages 1,3,5,7,8 and 10) and I homeschool as well. I’m lucky if I get in the bed by midnight and a lot of times my sleep gets interrupted at least once. So as you can probably guess, it’s a REAL struggle for me to get up even between 6-7am. I do better these days to control my crankiness, but I find myself (like today for example) dozing off DURING school if I sit down for few minutes to read over something for an assignment or grade work. I desperately need a change in my routine to “fill my cup” daily. Right now, I’m getting up just barely before my children do and feel like I get sucked into a whirlwind sometimes. And if I’m lucky, my cup will get filled just enough to get a few good sips. What’s your exact schedule look like (if you don’t mind sharing)? How do you balance other things outside of school to successfully get in the bed so early at night? Or maybe you have a video explaining all that...?

Nina, thank you for sharing your story. I am not a veteran mom like you or Mrs. Alvarez, but what I can tell you, is that you will find something that works for your family and current circumstances whether you get up at 5 am or not. With such little ones to take care of, you need to give yourself more grace. This season will pass. I'd say if you can try 30 minutes earlier than your normal bedtime for a week, and slowly increase that way or a similar approach, it could eventually get to your goal. Baby steps mama.

I love everything about your morning routine minus the 5am rule. LOL 😂 I'm going to try it but man this sounds detrimental. I'm a night owl. 🦉 I love being up cleaning and watching KZbin videos but I feel like I stroll through and get side tracked and lose the track of time and not be productive because I end up sleeping in in the morning. Dragging the whole morning then a get a second wind around lunch. I'm going to try to follow the 9pm bedtime. Fingers crossed and pray 🙏 for me! I want and need this life change to get closer to God because this is exactly one of my 22 things to do in 22. Also the early bedtime routine.

I accept the challenge! I usually wake up at six, but I still can't fit everything I want to do into that shorter time frame. I would love to see an updated evening routine, because when I plan for the next day, I have a problem going to bed early, and then the unwinding after a long day takes a couple of hours🙈 (having four children)... Greetings from Germany!

I want more support or ideas on how to streamline my family dinner meals… This is such a heavy weight to carry from having to figure out what to eat , shop and cook. Would appreciate an update from you.

I wake up 3 or 2 hours before my 1 year old and it's amazing! My husband and I call it my alone time. He also gets his alone time at night when I got to sleep at 8 with my little one.

I will try this 5am challenge! I think it will be challenging because in the morning all my kids are in my bed, and our living room is right outside our bedroom. We only have 2 bedrooms, the living room and the kitchen. So there isn’t much space, and I will have to be really quiet, but hopefully it will give me more time to plan our homeschool and get some time alone I wouldn’t get otherwise!

Jady I love your videos. You’re such a motivation and inspiration. Such a blessing to us all. What is your cleaning routine? How do you fit in laundry, cleaning, cooking, etc into this schedule?

Currently I work 2 jobs and keep my daughter during the day (she’s 17 months- so not quite homeschool aged though we do usually do “school work” early learning around 15 minutes twice a day- usually in the morning and then in the evening. (We work on colors- sorting- and numbers 1-5) she’s very young and can sort her colors amazingly! I go to my first job at 04:45am and work until 09:00am. Then we take my fiancé to the train station for his commute. I come home and we do first learning while I make breakfast, then I start work for my second job around 09:30am. I break for lunch and she plays until nap time then wakes up for snack and plays until lunch. Then she plays some more while I finish work. When I start dinner we do our evening learning and then get ready to pick up my fiancé from the train. We eat, dishes and any other last minute chores- then we are in bed by 19:45pm. have very little me time… but, have been able to work my self care in when I get up at 04:00am- shower, reading, stretching or yoga, and coffee. I live 5 minutes to my job which helps so much to maximize what little me time I get.

Power to you. I am a mom of 4 and my 4 year old still keeps me up most nights. Thus waking at 5 to get started is not possible. He gets up at 3 and goes back to sleep 5:30 or 6:30. I think having at least a few hours rest would allow me to do the early morning routine. Hopefully in the near future.
