wow I did not expect Jae's answer to the ghosting question to hit home. I never thought that the other person would understand that I needed space but I went anyway. When I finally was able to figure out myself and clear my head, 3 years already passed and I felt like I lost a good friend. I never forgot her. Recently I reached out to her and she was welcoming and forgiving. I didn't realize it was a whole other weight on my chest that I never apologized about it until she replied back to me. I thought I was the worst person for doing that to her. My thought was that it was better for her that I exclude myself from her life or else she would have had a liar and a fake for a friend. The pain that she'd bear when I leave her life without a word would not be compared to the pain of finding out that your best friend was a fake the whole time. I'm glad we're okay now. It turned out we both needed that space whether we knew it or not.

I agree so much with Jae's answer for the very last question about ghosting your friend. Because like I do that too to my friends and was wondering is it like an introvert thing? Most of my friends understand and feel that its okay to not reply for hours/days. However, I do have friends who felt that like "hey, why can't you reply?" I do feel bad at times though but is just really "I want to do what I want", rather than needing to keep carrying on the conversation. After listening to what Jae shared, I felt assured that it's alright to "ghost" your friends sometimes like I need that personal space. So thank you for the advice Jae

theres also the two different sides of love languages - how YOU feel most loved but then also what love languages youre inclined to show others, so like I might feel loved through quality time and physical affection but often i show others i love them through gift giving etc.

4:31 I definitely agree with Jae, cause knowing this can make a person manipulative. In my opinion, same goes for the MBTI personality, there's a lot of ways to get to know a person and to know how to make that person feel good in your presence when you know them inside-out and they don't. Love the podcasts and everything Dive Studios does!! ❤️ (sorry if my english was bad)

Jae saying it can be used as a weapon reminded me of a story I heard where this girl used the Pavlov's dogs psychological study/classical conditioning on her crush. i'd actually argue that love languages are just for people involved romantically. in my youth organization we've been using this for years in order to minister to one another better and it's been really useful. some interesting stuff! your "receiving" and "giving" love language may be different! my love language is words of affirmation, and it's the same both for my giving and receiving but i know other poeple who have different receiving and giving love languages. for example, someone may feel most loved through quality time - that's their receiving love language - but express their love to someone the most through acts of service - therefore, their giving. it's reallt interesting and helpful to know which is which!

I went through that portion of my life during COVID where I just stopped talking to any of my friends online for a week or two and some of their reactions were astronomical. I could never fully explain my disappearance and that never gave my friends any closure or reassurance that it wasn't because of them. All I cld say was "it's not ur fault, dw abt it" which does sound sus, I admit, but u just said it perfectly. I needed space. I wish I could've just said that.
